Is there a pop in fix?
Hey everyone,

So I'm running BD on an Samsung Evo 850, RX 480, and a i7 2600k oc'd.

Not sure if this enough, but I only game at 1080p and usually play all games mid to high settings no problemo.

In fact, BDO plays on high outside of town actually pretty good (48-60fps).

The combat is amazing and this game has beautiful, and I mean stunning graphics!

The only problem I have is whenever I am walking or moving I see tiny little bushes and foliage textures popping in and out. It's everywhere. It's to the point where my eyes automatically adjust to the things popping in and out and I cannot focus on anything else. To the point of actually getting a headache because of it.

I am curious if there is an addon that lets these textures fade in instead of just pop in. Most other games do that technique, but I heard BDO has some of the higher end stuff and it's a limitation on their engine? If true is there an expected fix for this, I'm not the only one that notices this, right? And honestly, it's to the point where the game is getting unplayable, and it hurts me to say this because I cannot believe I actually found a game with everything I love (skills/gameplay/etc) wise, but hindered by freaking pop in!

Anyways, kind of a /rant, and apologize but honestly, if anyone has any ideas to help with this please lmk! Thanks!!

e: This is a good video to showcase kind of how my experience feels. Hard to explain:

e2: It happens when just walking too, I don't have to be on my horse

24 hour bump, any idea? :(

That's completely normal and everyone has that, even on the most beefiest PCs available. It's more or less intentional/by design. You can even see it in their new trailer for the upcoming new areas – it's just less noticeable with YouTube's compression artifacts covering it up a bit:

No fix, it's normal. And yeah, it makes the game look awful, also the anti aliasing in the game is also kind of bad. This game is beautiful when you stand still, but ugly as soon as you move lol.

It reminds me of the pop-in playing GTA 5 on 360, horrible.

Ty all! I'll try to get used to it! I'm going to be getting a 1080 (after seeling my rx 480) and maybe see if the pop in is a little less noticable.

Spoiler alert: it's not. But you will notice an increase in frames

This is a problem in almost all open world games. Often you can set up a view distance. But in this game i didn't checked it, because i am sick of those settings changeing not much allready

Sure... The pop in it's in all open world games, but i'm pretty sure that in BDO de pop in is right in your face. I played WoW and the pop in is between the 2 or 3km far from you (And yes, because is WoW doesn't mean that graphics are bad)

Of course there's always some "pop-in", but typically it's only done for things further away or there's some blending effect so it#s not just "pop! it's there".

thats the only thing I wish they cared enough to adress. High demand in graphics(poorly optimized), poping everywhere, zero multi-gpu support, ect ect.

Its too bad and has been brought up many many times in the past but its been ignored. However, you mention how to buy pearls or issues trying to buy them, they respond in a few moments and spend time with you on that matter.

Doesn't such range tweak exists already?

Hmm, I do remember that I could set how far away from character I could see details especially other players.

Of course it doesn't help much with popin

The pop in is even there on the official trailers on youtube lol

Yeah the random texture pop-in/pop-out is game breaking and makes it unplayable and unenjoyable for me. I bought the game (outside of Steam) and waited months for it to be fixed. It's apparent now that it will never be fixed, and I wasted $30. It's a shame too, because the graphics are top-notch, and there are too few high-tech MMOs out there.

They're working with some company I've never heard of before to add "new and innovative" rendering, which is basically depth of field and more bloom, something other games have had for years now without the pop-ins. I don't see them working on those "glitches" any time soon, their main focus is still selling new costumes week after week.
