Black Desert
Getting Different looking armor?
Hi there.

I recently started playing BDO and I noticed that there's some armors dropping for me but they don't change the appearance of my character. Those who do change it, seem to cost 20-30 euro on the store but I sure hope cosmetics are not the only items changing appearance.

So do armors change your look later on in the game? I'm only around level 10 and all the armors that have dropped have not changed my appearance one bit.

yep, lots of different armor appearances.. it's just that most of the low level easier to get stuff tends to look pretty generic. Keep grinding, you'll see more differences as you go :)
Minor differences. You will always look like a potato sack unless you spend $ in cash shop.
or get boss gear
and some armor actually looks good it just depends on the character and the set of armor you have on you also can dye your armor to make it stand out more and be a littlbe bit more unique
mm, the "fashion" side of in-game gear is very plain for the most part. There seems to be like 3 visual "sets" that apply very minimal differences between each. That was pretty disappointing when 1st starting.

Even with cashshop costumes, ur character is still gonna look just like everyone else since most of them aren't very appealing lol.

Dye is pretty much the only way to have a semi-unique looking character, can get some for free through loyalty points earned for logging in (pearl shop has a section to spend them). 200LP for 1 random dye.
(tho don't do that until you get a gear set worth upgrading)

Sorry, forgot to mention boss gear look. You will look like a shrub.
Classes have base combat gear appearances and class splits share them. A Musa and a Maehwa armor or gear is the same for example. All cosmetic is in the Outfit slots. The ingame outfits use gear slots but are outfit and tl:dr you need to spend money for cosmetic additions. Or wait for someone else to and snipe it fromt he market.
I was gonna ask about this kind of.

Can anyone share some pictures of early level armor designs? Or is there a site to look at them?

I was thinking about getting this, but if the only way my girl is gonna look good is to spend a bunch of money in the cash shop then I won't bother.

So, is there any sexy time armors to get in the game with no cash shop? Any lingerie you can get in game without cash shop also?
Thanks for your replies.

I was also wondering, if there's a way to get pearls without spending cash.

For example I saw there's cheap stuff like piercings for 200 pearls. Is that easy to obtain?
I also would like to see what the starting armor looks like, since players are essentially stuck in it for dozens of levels. I just created a ranger, spent about an hour working on the customization, and then saw what the starting gear looked like. It was so horrific I deleted the character immediately.

I'd like to know what the starting armor looks like BEFORE I spend an hour on the customization.

I think the starting armor for classes is Rebar, because Rebar for Lahn is what she looks like when you first make her. I could be wrong though.

If you want to see what classes look like in all different armors you can go to BDO fashion. Most classes have only minor changes between each.

For example: https://bdo.mmo-fashion.com/maehwa/ Go to the equipment tab and you can see the different armors on a Maehwa. To get to other classes you can either 1. replace the class name in the address or 2. on the left click "Apparel" and choose a class.

Note some of the classes don't have anything under their equipment tab so you can just google them.

I personally would say Lahn has the best looking ones. http://dulfy.net/2017/12/21/black-desert-lahn-ran-class-armor-gallery/
should i really just spend money in the shop on some cosmetic gear, im almost level 30 and my gear is still a dirty brown robe or am i missing something?
There's an outfit changing button during character creation. The first three sets (not including the premium one that's displayed by default) are what you're going to be looking like most of the game while leveling.

Also, this is some serious thread necormancy right here.

In any case, you can just try to buy some premium gear off the market by using an alt (that stands next to the market) and market notifications. It's all luck though, so it could take quite a number of tries spread out over a number of days (or more). Also, some outfits are sold more than others, so if there's a specific one you want, then it could take much longer than if you just throw up a bunch of notifications and try for anything for your class.
