Buy the game, not Pearls.

TL:DR....... read the whole thing you lazy♥♥♥♥♥♥ it has merit.

the short and simple of it is that they are trying to bring in more people because either they
A: Want more money for there pockets
B: There really is no B its just A.

People, regardless of thinking it over will buy cash-shop items for you. the cash-shop allows for IRL money to be spent on in game items and sold on a marketplace for in-game currency. you have a lottery bid on getting these items with in game currency, so yes you can still get pearl shop items with in game money, and YOU not spending a time. KashKao will claim this is so "everyone" can experience the game and all its aspects, however that is just not the truth, because you have no other way to get the pearl items then to rely on someone else to buy them and place them on the market place for you to win the Lotto and hope to get the item and not someone else, the ONLY other way is to buy it yourself, which by the way the outfits (which give more exp per mob kill) are roughly $30 USD.... EACH. and no you cannot transfer it to another charector it is bound. which means ANOTHER $30 for your alts. (now you know why they are called Kashkao) and sadly, thats only the tip of the iceberg on cash-shop items being in the meta of the game.


Money is all they want from this release of BDO on steam. And as a company they are simply making a business decision. However wrong it may be to turn the blind eye to the current issues just to bring more issues for a few dollers. Hint: Make something great and people will support it.

However I would like to point out they have done nothing to fix the glaring issues they have with there current hardware running the game and making it optimized for its current player-base or providing any kind of acknowledgment of there being any issue in the first place.

What I would really like to see is the community of gamers (the very people who line KashKao' pockets) stop and think for a few minutes (post the raptor thinking meme) "if we dont give them money they will have to try something different" and after a long enough dry spell maybe they will finally look into ways of making the community happy or listen to what the community has to say? if they want money so bad make them earn like the rest of us. For me and those I know, we wont be spending any money on pearls until we feel the company earned them by making some good changes for once (and I dont mean 4 hour emergency maintenance to fix a cash-shop item)

Overall I really do like this game, I come back to it all the time and enjoy my time playing it my way, and its been working out so far. it has some REAL issues, but the combat is what keeps me here along with friends to play with and do things with.

So if you really want to give this game a go, find some friends to play it with, enjoy the PvE side of it, PvP doesnt start until level 58 and 400-450+ gearscore (let no one tell you different, they just kidding themselves) until you get to that point just sit back and dont rush it, thats how you go from Tri to Pri lol, enjoy what you got, play it to have fun.

You misunderstand. Warframe let's you buy premium currency with in-game items like it sounds like is the case for this game. I've traded for 100's of dollars worth in warframe. I'm not spending my money.

Money is the whole point of why businesses exist. Of course they are bringing the game to steam to make more money. I really wish they didn't abuse the cash shop like they do, from what I've read, but when all is said and done, they are still a business.

this is not the case, you cannot buy premium currency in the game (its called pearls for BDO) you can sell cash-shop items for IN game currency, but not the other way around.

The model is fine really. It's just that the prices are wallet rape. $10(USD) for an outfit bound to one character is far too steep. It's NOT a F2P game here. I get mtx is what will keep the servers up and the game going. The pricing is just over the moon though. And maybe it's just Witches? But there is one decent outfit IMO and it's the wrong colours... so that is not so cheap to fix either.

And I am still not clear if I did go through the effort to dye get it, and dye it, that the dye would be permanent. I am of the impression that it wears off and has to be re-dyed. Dye should be permanent, no ifs, ands, or buts. If anyone who knows better than this solo noob on his way to lvl 50 on his 1st character, thanks in advance for clearing this up for me;)

Other than pearl shop price gouging, I have so far enjoyed the game. I just wish the time spent on character design wasn't 90% covered up by some brown cloth witch garb that looks like it was made from recycled burlap sacks. Seeing as I can go buy real clothing for the cost of this (mostly ugly in my classes case) digital clothing

When you price gouge you make less money and people move on sooner. It's not that I would not pay for some outfits (rather I would really like something cool to rock in game), it's the insane mark up on the stuff that is the issue IMO.

cash shop should be cheaper if you have to buy to play the game. I had same issue with ESO
and ESO was way more expensive to buy
