What is the difference between grey and blue houses on the map? Google said that grey houses aren't purchasable/accesible yet and blue ones are. But I tried and could buy a grey house without any issues. So what do the colours mean?

Buildings are often in chains. Blue buildings are the first in a chain, or the next one in the chain if the first has been purchased. White buildings are owned. Grey buildings are not owned, and not the next in the chain.

You are able to purchase grey buildings if you have enough contribution points to purchase all of the previous ones in the chain.

Mhhh I think I found the issue. You can purchase any property as a residential building no matter if it is grey or not. But if you want to build a storage or whatever you need to unlock it first via mentioned chains.
