Trial + Upgrade
If I start out with the 7 Day Free Trial, can I later buy the Exploration pack on steam for the same account if I like the game? I've heard there are some complications with redeeming it in certain circumstances? Thanks.

Pre-existing Black Desert Online accounts created from methods other than Steam will not be able to play via Steam.

So I can't use the free trial and then buy the product from the world's largest vendor?

That's rather silly.

Ok, so can I buy the exploration pack from their website after using the trial?

Right, so any progress I made with the 7 day trial I would have to lose in order to buy that package. Or is it sold on their website?

cad are you sure? i mean you must have to pay to activate the free trial into P2P anyway so why not with that package when both are established via BDO official site?

Nevermind, I see it is available on their website. Is there anything I give up by not purchasing it with steam? Achievements etc?

You can not combine the Trial with the Steam version, Trial and Website version should work, but im not 100% sure.

mostly achievements and any other records on steam such as playtime. i doubt steam sales will really apply to BDO as they have their own methods for sales.
You lose a few servers, trading cards, and acievements (but they dont even work so...).

there are no achievements tho, atleast not right now and maybe not in near future. you don't really need them anyways

So really.. there's no reason to buy it on steam as opposed to the main website, if the trial upgrade on Steam doesn't work?
. Jun 4, 2017 @ 3:40pm
no not really unless you care for playtime on your steam account or as steam for a payment method for ingame currency.

Nah, best bet is to try the trial account and buy the standard edition of the game, unless you really want it linked with your steam account and the ease of downloading the client from within steam, in which case you'll need to delete your account and start from scratch.

Yeah, the payment method bit matters to me since I don't have a credit card.

..Damnit, guess I'm either taking the dive blind or wasting a week.

Advice?
