Didn't Want to Spend Real Money...Which Pets?

Guess now I will...

Which pets should I pair with my Explorers Pack Hawk?

1x Red Panda (for aggro - farming)
1x Finch (bird - knowledge gaing)
1x Fox (later desert farming)
1x Hawk ("free" one with Explorers Pack)

Is this a good setup? Or should i Get 2x Hawks, 1 Fox, 1 Dog

Can't you only have 3 pets out at once? So unless you are planning to exchange 2 for a higher tier, there is no reason to have 4. Just get one of each that suits your need.

You can have 4 pets out.
I personally prefer cats and rabbits because their passive gives life skill xp instead of more dura on your armor, finding rare mobs (useless) etc. Their talent is finding resources you can gather, depending the tool your character has equiped.
If you want to breed with pets and get higher tiers, get 2 or more of the same.
Pets can get different looks: check the button on the right in shop preview.
I usually wait with buying pets untill they put some on sale, which happens like every 2 months.

Birds - good at the start, but once you learn all the knowledge, not much use there.

The whole time, since they pick up stuff for you, it's really good to have 4 since at higher levels when you have to grind it will make picking up items easier, you literally won't need to bother trying to pick stuff up since they will do it so fast.

also i expect they will give out more penguins eventually, these were attendance rewards in the past, you can only have one penguin out at a time though so when they give more out people can mix them to raise their tier. pet type isn't that important until you mix them with another pet of the same type, as any pet might randomly learn a better bonus when you max their level and their main pet type bonus only rises above 1% when you raise their tier. the level 10 bonuses are more specific usually but a bigger boost of 3%.
