Buying BDO on Steam, isn't it bad?
For some who intend to keep their account it's fine but for other's why? If you buy BDO on Steam, the account is bound to your Steam account. Meaning you can't even use the official launcher to play it since you never even created the account with a password. But why would you want an account bound? If for example later on you are tired of BDO and will never play it again, but you sunk money into the cash shop and wanted to sell it. But if you are playing on your main Steam account that isn't a option. Yet people who have the offical site accounts can be sold.

I already bought BDO on Steam and have been playing it, got a Wizard to level 52 but haven't done anything impressive. I also had an account from the official site since it launched but I stopped playing it after a few days and didn't even get far, now it has tons of event gifts backlogged and about 100 mill for me to use. So what do you think? Should I stick with Steam BDO or start playing on the official account?

Well for a start steam version for me has major fps issues where as my standalone account is flawless. The steam version also has issues with achievements but is known to devs. Main reason I bought the steam version was A; because it was cheap and B; beacsue I had the option of starting over and learning again.

I mean for £4 for some people that's hoovering there bedrooms for pocket money. But in short I am back on my main account with my highest chars and money. For me it's messy, i dont know where I am regards to quests etc, nodes (have I done them Right?) All these things seem like a brick wall regarding my 1st account.

Steam version seems fresh air, but the fps and issues I am having are again the reason I'm leaving it for now and will try to sort out what seems like a can of spaghetti.

Happy BDO!

Turning off steam overlay would probably fix it. I haven't checked but it seems the only thing that should be different.

Some one has also said about playing in full screen so I'll check that too.
@Mood If you go to your quest log and press the button suggested, it will give you an overview of all quests you haven't done in what is considered the main quest line. Just start with the first one of the region you want to do; it usually has an autopath to the quest giver.

If you need more information on a quest line, go to http://bddatabase.net/us/quests/. It will tell you the previous and next quest and often has comments and screenshots from other players.

Make sure you have the option all quests checked in your quest log if you can't find a quest. ;-)

The Steam version doesn't use the launcher? I thought the Steam version simply opens the launcher through Steam?

There is no launcher for Steam, it basically does everything the official client does except having the launcher. Since the account is bound to Steam, there shouldn't be a reason you will log into a different account. The tiny BDO is launching icon pops up, then client loads. At first launch it will ask you to make an account and it doesn't ask for password since it doesn't use a launcher.

i would never sell any game. and steam is more convenient than a ♥♥♥♥♥♥ ass launcher.
a major gripe is the playtime counter tho. you can go afk unless you want to look like a total morons with a million hours clocked

Lmao still can't decide on this. On one had normal account has full access to official site and things like Gift Package. Have around 100 mill silver with bunch of boosts and leveled wizard to 47 in 5 hours. While steam account is bound but no launcher login needed. Has about 35 mill silver and level 53 wizard.

Aight lets start by saying that selling accounts is not only against the Rules
but NOT SAFE, and no one could guarantee you that you won't get scammed.
There is no safe Marketplace for trading MMO accounts on the entire net.
Trust me I was in that business for over 6 years.

Now leaving this "If you get bored" and "if you want to sell it" and "if you won't get scammed"
and "if you are not sure you won't come back" aside, witch there are lots of if, the plus side is that you 1) have your game nice and tidy with all your other games in your Steam Library 2) you use the Steam Client to download any update , and that's million times faster and more reliable that any other game client 3) having a more imidiate support via Steam and since we are talking Money, increasing the overall valye of your Steam Account.
