Remove this awful anti-cheat
Please remove this freaking anti-cheat thing. I can't even load up the game. I keep getting "Failed to init security". I've been searching for hours trying to find solutions but none of them work. Nothing I have open should be conflicting with this stupid anti-cheat. MMO's shouldn't be relying on existing anti-cheat systems like this anyway, it's a bit embarrasing. I bought this game because it looks fun, but I can't even play it.

it should use VAC instead of this North Korean made (not surprised there...) spyware rootkit. even if you uninstall BDO xigncode3 wont. you have to go into regedit and remove it yourself. Nothing in BDO's EULA too about it because xigncode3 doesnt have one.

I already added folder and exe exceptions but it didn't do anything.

Any chance you can post a link for the regedit solution? I've searched and can't find anything. I hate lingering programs like this.

If the reply is for me, I have already uninstalled. But, according to Sonny the anticheat does not uninstall with the game.

Don't ♥♥♥♥ with registries unless you know what you're doing.
Exactly, why the devs didnt scrap xigncode and just switch to VAC for the steam version is beyond me

From reading stuff online, it looks like steam might be the reason why xigncode is having issues.

A reboot usually works for me whenver the error pops up. May also be your anti-virus program. Add BDO to the extension list.

No need to directly edit the registry by hand. I've listed the commands in my post here:

You can just save that lines as a "remove-xigncode.cmd" file on your desktop and after playing right click it and pick "Run as Administrator".

Did both of those.

+1 to remove expensive (in PC's resources and I believe they have to pay them a little as well) and outsourced bull****

If you're using windows 10, Windows Defender sometimes interferes with xigncode3, but adding the whole BDO folder and documents folder to the exclusions list fixed the issue for me after i sent in a ticket about it.

To add it to your Windows Defender just open it and goto "Virus & threat protection" (bellow the home icon)

Virus & threat protection settings > Exclusions (add or remove exclusions)

Add an exclusion (folder)
BDO documents; C:\Users\(Youname)\Documents\Black Desert

Add an exclusion (folder)
Add BDO directory; E:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Black Desert Online

Note, your paths are obviously going to be different than mine.

Because VAC is so secure ROFL.Also steam servers will be removed soon and there will be only main population servers and Olvia ones ,so all of us that have the game pre-steam releas version what should play without cheat protection ?Did you even think for a second that the game has been around for more then a year before its steam release, before pulling ideas from your ass ?

From the Dev's

"Your concern that Xigncode remnants remain after uninstallation is a very valid point. To shed some light on this, the following portions remain:

Xhunter1.sys
C:\Windows\xhunter1.sys
Registry Entry
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE > SYSTEM > ControlSet001 > Services > xhunter

After Black Desert Online is uninstalled, you can remove these files as they are not needed. Ideally, this process would be automated through the uninstall process and we're currently looking into how we can accomplish this technically. At this time, however, this process is not automated."

Ive never had a problem with it on any of my systems and neither have any of my friends. Have you tried formatting?
