Group content?
It's been a good while since i've played any MMO's, thinking about BDO, but one thing I haven't been able to find a lot of information on is the group content of this game?

Are there PUG friendly dungeons or any thing like that? Does combat encourage any kind of group synergy or is it more of a zerg fest?

Appreciate any responses!

There is group content is you join a Guild and like to PVP. There is sorta group content with some of the bigger bosses, but thats about it. Just so you know, theres no group finder or anything like that.

It is not a sandbox game - or any other mmorpg out there would also be sandbox.
The gameplay in this game is set, you have some different things to do ingame, yes, but this is always provided in mmorpgs these days.

Hrm alright, doesn't sound like there's much for a co-op/group kind of player? While i'm fine with pvp, I do like to play some pve groups and stuff when I can.

I'll keep an eye out for some thing else. Again appreciate the responses.

Dungeons and guild raid bosses are coming, also Aakman temple, Hystria ruins and the new high level locked off areas in kamasylvia are group content, but its still just grind mobs for money and xp, but it turns into diablo 3s greater rifts, you have to rotate elxir buffs with your party and group mobs to burn them down efficently.

You can still do 'group content' as in go to an area with a party and grind it.

The developers specifically said they don't want to have dungeons in the game so don't count on anything meaningful if people talk about it 'coming'.

The game is best considered a solo game until you get into a decent guild and even then you're going to be running solo majority of the time as there are no traditional RPG roles, everyone is just DPS.

It'll come down to, do you need a hand killing mobs in a harder area? Do you need a hand with pvp? If yes, group up, if not you're going to be solo.

You didnt even explain your point at all. Its a sandbox game, there is infinite leveling etc. What the hell are you saying?

You know there is a couple of dungeons in the Black Desert of Valencia that you rather explore in a party than alone wich would mean a certain death (if not with high lvl and gear score).

Black Desert Online is NOT a sandbox game. The game is clearly divided in level brackets and the whole quest system is linear, by taking you from quest hub to quest hub, and not open ended.

It seems to also be primarily solo-based so good luck finding groups. I am almost level 50 and I have yet to find a single group. So, based on my experience, this game plays pretty much like a linear, solo RPG with very occasional group content and very little sandbox aspects.

It is fun for what it is but it is definitely not a sandbox MMO.
