Leveling? New to game
So i brougth BDO like a couple of days ago but i havent really had a real shot at the game yet. Just been watching videos and stuff related to the game so i have a general knowledge before i even start playing fully.

However, I heard the game is quite grindy? Not in regards to gear (expected in an MMO) but even just to level up? I have saw posts and people from videos saying leveling is by pulling large mobs and just killing them over and over and when you reach the max level for that bracket / zone. You move to the next and do the same? Is that really the case? I've even saw people saying it can take weeks / months to even level up if your not correctly geared since you arent farming efficient enough?

I remember one of the most grindy games in regards to having to kill 100's and 1000's of mobs just to level was a game called 9Dragons. You would literally get like 0.01% just for killing 1 mob and etc. Is this game's leveling system similar to that where you have to do the same just to level up?

Damn, now im reli contemplating whether to start playing the game or just uninstall it. Saw it was on the sale and I was really hyped for it! The graphics looks absolutely gorgeous and everything! All the flashy combos and effects. Now after hearing and knowing that is the case....really dont know anymore. I mean, i dont mind grinding. I quite enjoy it actually, thats why my main games are MMO's etc. But just not that type of grind where you are required to kill 1000's of mobs. I did it back in the day with 9dragons, i know how that felt, dont fancy doing it again.

Basically BDO has no max level.
There is, however, a softcap and a hardcap.
The softcap being about level 50'ish and the hardcap being at 56.
Leveling up to 50 can be done in a day if you really want to.

There is only a soft cap. Hardcap would be a max level.

If you need a Day for 50 you make something terrible wrong. :steammocking:

No Hardcap btw

tbh you can do 1-55 in a day if you really go at it. Thing is with this game unlike other MMO's is there is no level cap so the leveling is endles.

As with all MMO's the higher the level the longer it takes to get the next one.

BDO is grindy, but thats kind of the enjoyable bit. It does feel rewarding to hit lvl 60 and you can make quite a bit of in game money by grinding which helps get that gear up.

for a fresh account with literally no gear 50 in a day is actually okay. if you have nice gear 56 in a day is possible.

You will eventually need to do the main-story, as you need to finish a certain quest in order to be able to level up to level 50. However, the fastest way to levelup is just grinding mobs, fullout korean-style.

Killing mosnters in eth way to level. However you will want to do quests for contribution, knowledge, and bag space.

As a new player you will need several days to reach level 50 or 56. It may even take weeks.
But its worth the journey. Join a guild and have fun.
Around level 53 you will get around 0.100-0.700 xp per monster.
You can only reach lvl 50 in one day if you dont care about the story, life skills, your character stats like stamina, breath, strength and health which you can only obtain over bigger amount of time. You need appropriate gear as well.

With higher accuracy you can kill higher level mobs, otherwise you will just keep missing them as a low level. The quests are structured properly. You will get enough gear from quests to fight on par with monsters on your level.
You can make level 56 with only 30-50 ap/dp without any struggles if you have enough accuracy.
Whats the point of reaching level 56 in one day if you dont understand the game at all.
You will be left behind on many other things if you focus solely on leveling your character as a new player.
Enjoy the little detours to the fullest.

Even as a new player, with all the boosts thrown at you, you can hit 50 in 5 or less hours.

Ok I will do story quest.. I dont need level fast.. I will chill in this game..
AFatalPapercut May 28, 2017 @ 10:42am
people tend to forget to inform others that there's different ways to "level" that all tie into a bigger rating for your family (account). All your character levels on all your different characters add up to some family rating thing.

You can level to 50+ quite quickly just fighting random stuff, but there's still the whole "Life" aspect to it should you want to pursue it. Basically the crafting side of the game is like a whole other game in itself....can be quite overwhelming until you learn things a bit at a time IMO.
