That is how it should be. You want to accell at somethinga nd be the best you put the time in. You don't see a race teams getting special upgrades to cars just because they cvan pay more.
Now if the money spending was relegated to catch up and not acting as a time multiplier where the more time you put in the more the money you spend benefits you, then I would be right there with you saying there is no P2W here.
To me, Pay2Win is where you pay real money to buy stuff from cash shops that enhance your character stat-wise, make you stronger in ways you could NEVER achieve without paying real money.
Blackdesert does not provide such things in their Cash Shop. Sure, you'll progress faster, but you won't be enhancing your characters to a point that is unachievable for non-paying players.
Maybe, spent time playing these games since UO and I've noticed P2W definition varies from game to game. Some games do one thing and it isn't pay2win, while another games does the same and it is pay2win. The differences come down to games design and advanatges granted within that design, and yes that includes simply making things faster.
Actually at current rates for things like enchanting, certain things very well could be unachievable in realistic timeframes (barring extreme luck) for those that do not pay, such as PEN gear.
then there is the rank 1 houses and investment banks which can bring you up to 400M per month just by throwing real money at your screen.
however having huge amount of silver doesnt ensure you to get op. sure you get to try it more often but my god the rng system in this game is so heavy that i would suggest anyone to ignore it and snipe boss gear and weapons when they appear on the market place.
then again the probability of boss weapons appearing on mp is low...
I'm sure smart people who have been playing MMO's since Ultima / EQ1 / SWG / Wow Vanilla days would realize this game is extremely pay to win. I've been in a number of top guilds in BDO since release and no one has denied that this game is pay to win.
Progress in Black Desert online is EVERYTHING. Go and get full PEN without purchasing artisan memories. :) It's pretty much impossible since the game would be closed before you're done.
Progressing faster in MMO's is pay to win since you'll always be ahead of everyone else, especially in a game like this. There is no way a non paying user can catch up to someone who spends $1k+ a month on cash shop items. If you're ahead in gear, you will always win.
PS: Most of the top players in EU have spent thousands on this game. They are gods in PVP because they're gear carried. Not sure about NA, but it will probably be the same.
Progress is winning
Faster progress is paying to win
It's the very definition of pay to win
Stupid defensive fanbois trying to lie and trick more people into playing this already out dated stupid game
Good luck with that.
You have absolutly no idea what P2W is.
Pay To Win AKA P2W. when you are paying for advantage which normal players don't have access to unless they either pay too or will have to grind very long (weeks and months).
I have played this stupid game, long before it was on steam. It has p2w garbage you can buy for cash

It may be your opinion that the pay2win aspects of BDO are not as extreme as in some others, but the reality is it's there. lurking under the surface
Faster advancement, faster money gain, these translate to late game advantages and pvp advantages, and paying real money gets you there faster and with a bigger wallet

And don't even get me started on how the bosses work with potion spam
It's you that needs to learn what p2w means
If the shop was cosmetic only, the costumes wouldn't have bonuses, pet would just stand around and look cute with no bonuses, artisan memories, inventory slots and weight, maid, elyon's tears, brands, horse whistles, black essences, stables and lodging would not be in teh shop.
