Fingers crossed for you!
just click install on steam, wait till it starts downloading, close steam, move the folder, fire up steam again, and it should check the files and download whats missing.
What files do you slide in exactly?
yes what files? i don't want to download the game again when i buy it
Hey im so sorry only just saw this.
the original game you downloaded from the website should be located in your files here..
C:\Program Files (x86)\Black Desert online
But here is what i did.
I opened 2 document windows side by side.
1 was C:\Program Files (x86)\ (With Black desert online highlighted)
the other was Program Files (x86)\Steam\SteamApps\common (you should see folders of all ur steam games)
I just clicked on the entire folder "Black desert online" (without going into that folder)
and slid it over to Steams games folder (click on BDO folder and without taking your finger off the mouse button slide it over to the steams games folder)
take your finger off and it should then transfer file location , will take a few secs.
Now your BDO folder is in your steam game folder along with your other games.
then just launch your Steam launcher app... go into your games.. and hit download on BDO, it will then Varify files instead of downloading.. and maybe download a patch if needed. that will take about 10 mins.
Im sorry im not so good at explaining things :P
What I would suggest if anyone is still having trouble is to first run your non-Steam BDO client and let it patch anything automatically, if files are outdated and you try giving them to Steam it will just reject everything and want to download the whole game. After that, just copy the Paz folder to where it would be on Steam's folder (see GXV3's post here for detailed folder paths). I used WinMerge to check what was actually different and only copied over the files from the Paz folder that existed in the steam folder (which were previously generated by a previous failed attempt at downloading through steam which I uninstalled before starting anew). So once I got the list Steam wanted from the Paz folder, I proceeded to only copying those files and skipping anything else. Then relaunched Steam, told it to download the game and it automatically started verifying what I placed in the Steam folder. After it was done verifying, it started downloading the game with a 49.0GB of 49.2GB progress. I doubt the WinMerge thing was a necessary step, just copying the Paz folder should be enough.
No sadly... this is only for the steam account.
- if you buy on steam.. use on steam.
- if you bought direct from the site, you can only use the official BDO launcher
(though you can use steam to launch the BDO official launcher, by adding BDO from your PCs game libary.. but it wont give you steam achevments.)
NM: was reading your trying to cross play from desktop to steam version. yea that doesnt work. also...why does this decide whether you play on steam or not? like your progress on trial account was probably worthless anyhow. and easily recovered in a few hours. especially now that youve learned a bit.
