Is it true that classes are linked to their retrospective gender? like Berserkers can only be male and rangers can only be female?

Edit i can see why SOME classes are fine such as the valk, Also why are there only female elves? and male berserkers(i am aware that only giants can be berserkers..but why are giants limited to just that)?

It really isnt though; it shows what the devs might be focusing on, horny little teenagers. I have seen how things can go with gender locked classes, ever heard of TERA? all the new classes are slutty female focused.

Ask the devs, not me. Sex sells, you should know that. I love girls and Most of my characters in MMORPG are female. BDO is one of the games with nice looking male armors but I don't like the male classes.

It is not laziness, it is standard in Korean MMORPGs for classes to be gender-locked. Virtually every single Korean MMO has locked genders per class. The game is also grindy af, which is a standard Feature of Korean MMOs. If you don't like it, it doesn't mean the devs are lazy or living in the Dark Ages. It simply means there is a culture gap that is too wide for you to cross.

Imcorrect.Both are Magic users and that is why they are a female onl class.

The reasoning behind most of the gender locked classes in game is typically tied to Magic, being that in BDOs lore Magic comes far more naturally to women than it does to men, which is why the witch is young and the Wizard is old. She was born with it and he had to study for ages.That can be said of most of the other classes too, Giants being genderlocked is because a female giant would just be friggin ugly. Seriously. No.

I emna, sure SOME classes may be gender bound, liek valkyries. But a simple sorcerer and such, why? Thats stupid, But then typcialy KOREAN ttile, naked armor heroines for teenagers with out of control hormones.

That all amkes the detailed face customsiation feel truly wasted.

I mean yes being able to choose your gender would be nice, but not being able to do so doesn't = bad game. Its like not reading a book simple because you don't like the cover despite knowing you can't judge a book by its cover. Its silly.

yeah sure make a sandbox game, advertise massive customisation and fail to deliver the most simple character customisation: choosing a gender for a standard fantasy MMO class. Thats just basic bad game deisgn and wasting potential.

I agree with you that it really sucks that some of the classes don't have both genders, but this game is really good. It'll be awhile before another MMO can come along and trump the combat of this game. I'm not exaggerating. Please don't let the gender issue be the reason you don't try it and give it a chance. It was offputting for me, but I'm glad I gave it a chance. This combat is so much fun.

80% of the costumes are bad game design and wasted potential. Males have some diverse full armor and shirtless armors and every female armor is boobs, butts, and never fully armored, not even the full suited armor one.

We have two pirate outfits and both are miniskirts. All I want is 1 outfit I'd like to buy. Just 1 that makes my female look destructive and powerful, JUST 1 I SAY! No bikini's, no miniskirts, no tank tops, no ez-peezee panty shot nonsense!

Sorry ranting about the wasted talent that could have been creative, diverse, and immersible had they just let a designer with the ability to take the norm and recreate it, make all their outfits.

This is newbie fanfic levels of shortsightedness. I have not finished reading all of the lore, but part of race creation is asking question about your 1 gender race:

How do they reproduce?
With humans?
If an elf has a child, can it be a human male? Or can it only be a female elf?
How is it possible for a giant and human to reproduce? Oh so it is impossible? Do they have to rely on alchemy or magic? Is the wife always doomed to die if she gives birth to a giant?

All nice immersion building questions that I hope will be answered the more I uncover the world. I mean they seem to have back story on all the races, so surely they didn't forget to insert how all these single gender races reproduce, right? RIGHT!?

Try Elder Scrolls Online. People gave it a bad rep at start but it's the only MMO I know and care about that actually puts lore and consistency over horny teenager money. There are only very few armor styles with naked skin. Most armors are actual armor and even the sets showing more skin make it clear what's light, medium, or heavy armor.

Well, know why the Giants got those huge axes? They put some specific bod part on the table, chop it off, and it grows into a new, full giant. Can I apply to be a BDO lore writer now? :)

They certainly tried to add lore to their world, but overall it's very thin, shallow, full of tropes and in parts inconsistent.
