Anyone figured out what AI NPC buys what paintings?
I figured out that the AI sees a few things about your art:

A: The colors

B: The time you spent on the piece

and C: If it depicts something other than a bunch of scribbles.

In the beginning the punk rock people with spiky hair will buy scribbles made with the middle colors of red, green, blue, purple etc as long as they're bright.

The old dudes will buy pieces that you put a lot of time into and if they depict something.

The hipsters (mimes w/ baguettes) will buy the same pieces as the punk rockers but will stop buying your stuff after a certain point after you become "mainstream" and will just walk around and criticize your stuff.

Other than that in the second part of the game I really can't figure it out for the other NPCs.

The game is really fun though, bug free and an interesting look at artists, if satirical.

You guys gotta have some sort of algorithm in there though... I mean it's not random

By chance are the pieces I posted about colors and time and if it depicts something also correct? :D

No idea here! Cute game, but I can't figure out rhyme or reason on how to sell things. Making cools geometrical patterns sells sometimes, not others. Using orange, red makes people mad but then if you use blues and purples they say it's not creative enough. Try to make random "squiggle art" and get some cool looking things and they say "there's no heart". Then I just mush things up and someone buys something seemingly at random.

>_< Still entertaining, but a bit too reflective of real life where everyone thinks everything "sucks".

Look, here's a new movie! "That sucks!" Here's a new book! "That sucks!" Here's a new album! "That sucks!"

Everyone's a jaded critic nowadays, no? =P

Nah, the punk rocker guys definitely buy just mushed up colors of what I listed in my OP. Never fails for me. The mimes as well with splashes of brown/dark blue. But yeah, that's what it feels like for the most part :\

I figured it out...

Punks: Will mostly buy energetic paintings and focus on dark and main colors (flags with the Anarchy A seem to work fine)

Critics (Old): Art made with time and good mix of colors

Hipsters: Anything thats bright colored.

They also ADORE those really simplistic paintings with calm colours (blue, light blue, blueish, light green) and 1-2 geometric figures. For example having a big light blue circle on blue background was a huge hit among the Businessmen. As did painting a monochrome background and adding some stripes of another nice colour.
They dislike bright and/or contrasting colours and they can't comprehend a lot of detail. Just be sure to put some time into each painting (so they won't call it rushed) and imagine you're designing a bath towel :D

They hate dark colors. Don the Businessman, who is basically a characture of Trump, called one of my paintings unpatriotic that had dark colors and black background. I admit it wasnt a good painting but was just a Halloween theme

Anyone know what the tall glasses guys in suspenders like? xD Stuck on act 3, yikes!

Controlled chaos ~ Basically just pick lots of colors with a smaller brush size and scribble like mad, or just put dots all over the place, whatever you feel like. So long as it's a huge mess by the end. Expressionism!

Nobles seem to like smaller brushes. At first I thought they liked time, but I spent a lot of time with the pen on a medium setting, but they weren't biting at all. Then I switched to the smallest size, and they instantly picked up on it.

I made basically US and French flags for the fellow decked out in red white and blue and he paid lots, then continued to make flags and they got me to the rich ending.

Still can't figure out this algorithm, in my first play-session I did nature pictures going from child drawings to more time invested form of art, this got me the ending in the castle tower with the rich ladies, after that I tried simple lines and flags but I always ended up bankrupt,,,, not sure why the artist needs over 600$ in wine per week, but maybe he has no liver. Then I come and read this post about algorithms so that means you can sell what ever just as long that it has the right color % and time invested right?

The only problem is figuring out these percentages and colors, because one day they like something blue and the next day there moaning about it. Simple example... The french flag, they buy it but the next time they won't, Even if you turn it in to the dutch flag they still won't. Is this a French thing? Can we have a American aria, cause I only have to make paintings about how great the US is or state something about President Thrump and it sells.
