To OP:
I thought the same thing lol
I'm one of them. And I won't start watching again until Negan/Jeffrey Dean Morgan is off the show. He killed it. And no, I'm not objecting to the violence. The only good thing about S7 was the premiere episode.
Morgan's Negan, however, has been anything but terrifying or scary. He's been boring as hell and so way over the top that it's laughable. Honestly, he looks like he's going to bust a gut laughing himself. If they can't take the damn show seriously, how can I? If I wanted to watch a truly mediocre pseudo horror TV show, I'd be watching something else.
Kirkman writes good comics but directly translated to TV makes for a very boring experience. What's been great about other seasons were that they took the best of the comics and gave it their own spin. S7 thus far sucks to hell and back and so long as no one is willing to tell Morgan to reign his ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ performance in and get real, it's a joke.
So instead they sell the TV episodes on Steam like it's a big freaking deal.
