Anyone know if there is an option for it being in Japanese with English subs?

Yup. There's English subtitles and Japanese, English, German and Italian audio.

For the main episodes anyway. There's some inconsistencies with the bonus material. For example, the interviews are Japanese audio only, no subtitles, whereas the Tachikoma Days Animated Short is completely English.
I wonder if that's got to do with licensing issues or some of this material not ever having released in English-speaking countries.

But anyway, I've watched several of the normal episodes and they've all got the ♥♥♥ audio + English subs combo available. Hope this helps!

Tachikoma Days seems to not have any subtitles at all, but English/Japanese/other audio. Only watched the first of it.

The subs format is awful. All capital letters, not centered, jumping from one place to another, using 2 lines for a few words, changing too fast...

Is there a solution for this?

yeah its not the best. what annoys me a bit is that when i pause/continue the video the overlay that then appears would sometimes go over some of the captions. i wish i could move the captions a little higher, and perhaps more centered, because they jump from left to right or vice versa if several people or even the same one talk multiple sentences in quick succession.

Close Caption is not the same as Subs. CC is desinded for the def to read so they get whats going on without any kind of audio at all. Subs are purly just translations of the voice acting, and this dose not have it, or I probubly would get it.

For some reason, subtitles/CC are missing entirely on this one episode. Really bloody annoying. WTF Steam/Crunchyroll!? This series has been out for a decade, how does one episode not have subtitles?

I would really love for them to fix this, though my eavesdropping of Japanese is good enough that I understand most of the episode, but for consistency sake it would be good to have the subtitles/CC. Please fix this episode.

Ww should and must start a campaign to ask for subtitles workshop. That is the solution for all of this issues i think

It's not CR but Lionsgate in this case..

What's weird is that I have the whole series on DVD from Bandai, and all episodes had subtitles. I'm pretty sure the source material CR is working with had them, but somebody missed a few files.
