when i go to put the code in all the numbers are upside down so it won't except the code help please

I'm not sure which desk you're talking about? The only desk with numbers I can think of is the one upstairs in the library and if those numbers are upside down it's a bug. All I can suggest is loading an earlier saved game to see if that fixes it.

yes its Lady Victorias desk in the library ,,,,,,,,,thanks i did load an earlier game but it also had upside down numbers where the code is ment to go so i put the code in backwards and that workd , only now when i only need to do the very last bit with the black and white buttons it wont work no m atter what i do ,this game is so frustrating ,its not worth the money i paid for it thats for sure , far to many bugs in it . not happy

I'm curious about the upside down numbers. Can you take a screenshot, upload it (fpr example using https://de.imgbb.com/ ) and post the link to it here? I wonder if this is a different interpretation or if this is a really rare bug.

Regarding the black/white buttons of the snake. There are two parts of the snake. One outside of the desk. And a second one inside of the hidden compartment you can open after you've entered the numbers correctly. You need both parts of the snake for the right sequence (starting with the part outside of the desk and continuing with the part in the hidden compartment).

ok i started a whole new game and have now got to the outside snake part on the left side , is there some pattern to this puzzle as now matter how manytime i press the buttons nothing happens

Yes, you have to press the buttons in order (from one end to the other) and each button has to be pressed a certain number of times e.g. press button 1 once, button 2 once, etc... He tells you when you've got the wrong number. You never need to press any single button more than 3 times.

I wonder if both descriptions (from my previous posting and Lithurges) aren't detailed enough...

There are two snakes with black and white dots. One on the outside of the desk on its left side. And one in the hidden compartment that you can open after you've entered the number code inside of the desk.

It probably work best if you write down the order of the black and white dots from left to right of each snake. Then you press the black/white buttons in the order you noted down starting with the snake on the outside of the desk and continuing with the snake from the hidden compartment.

After you entered the sequence correctly the game automatically let you know.
