Bug halfway through the game on Steam Deck.

About halfway through the game, everytime the old man has a memory flashback, I get the Test Screen with the color bars, and the smaller box to the right with tv snow. I'm using the default Proton, so maybe I'll try experimental or an older version of Proton, to see if that resolves the problem.

I experienced this exact issue too and didn't have any luck changing Proton versions, but found the videos in the install folder at "steamapps/common/Old Man's Journey/Old Mans Journey_Data/StreamingAssets/Video/" where they played back fine in VLC - that's fine as a workaround, not sure why the videos only start misbehaving half way into the game 🤷‍♂️
Specifically the issue started with 08_Argument_1080.mp4, and affected all the videos after that.
