Well these aren't dogs and most domesticated farm animal manure makes great fertilizer. Still an important lesson despite living in the city or rural areas. Also kids should know if you keep a pet, it will poop and you need to take care of it. It is a fact of life. If you don't want to do it your self, hire a farm hand. Maybe they can compost it for you, but I think not, that would be the cost of being lazy: No poop and No fertiliser. I still like the idea of a salesman/trader who helps provide a nitrogen rich concoction for my digital garden plots though.
And honestly it would only be a thing if you make it a thing. Like anything in a open world RPG.
