Some Feedback
I recently bought Yonder after seeing some let's plays of it Aavak and Splattercat, to give them +s for the devs, and have some comments/feedback/etc:

Overall:
The game is quite pretty and it's enjoyable walking around and seeing how the game changes as the seasons change and that. I really enjoy the game so far. My only gripe here is the game seems very short and I hope that it's still being added to and developed hence some suggestions and that below. I haven't finished the main story yet, but from what I've played of it so far and poked around with:

Minor Gripes/Annoyances:
Things like mortar and the H-something-or-others for tailoring you need to buy from merchants are in annoyingly limited supply. Mortar especially since you need so much of it just to build anything in constriction and you can only buy 6 per day and only 2 of the thread kits/H-things for tailoring. I found glue in a much better supply (14 a day I think you can get).

Suggestion: Either have these items creatable in the same fashion as coal/planks/etc, or allow the merchant to buy more of this as you trade more items to him and increase his wealth.

Overall Suggestions/Things I'd like to see:

- A personal house with furniture. There's so many broken homes and such in the area, it'd be nice to fix these up for ourselves or other people to live in. Ultimately, it would be nice to have a buildable and upgradeable home much like the typical stardew/harvest moon formula.

- As above, a marriage/children system would be nice to see as well. It seems to make sense for the game

- Planting plots available earlier. It was kind of annoying having to get to master level in carpentry/construction to be able to build basic farm plots. Even if you split it in to basic plot (3-4 places for crops) and large plots (the current 9 spaces in the game right now)

- Tree plots. For the resources you need to make these, I'd really like to be able to put more than just 2 trees in them =/

- More "levels" to the crafting system with more things to craft

- Upgrading or modifying the fences built with the farm as opposed to requiring space inside the farm to build them. It seems odd to build stone walls/fences when you still have a rickety wood one outside of it. The outer fence seems redundant and it'd be nice to just upgrade that one instead by examining it with the fences in your inventory/etc.

and... that's about it for now.

- I am addressing this :) and updates here will likely be rolled out on the weekend or early next week!

Planting plots available earlier.

- Makes sense. I think this is something I can balance in.

Tree plots

- I think they drop needs to be upped on these. One of the intresting ones I did was basically make a tree farm :D And the long-haul production value on a heap of tress was an interesting way to play this.

Upgrading or modifying the fences

- Fair call

No worries! We've all been busy trying to help sort bugs so I wasnt as active on the forums the last few days as I could have been!

But I am back now... <3

Since I dont want to start a new thread for my Feedback, I'll just post here:

I'd really, really like to get a menu where I can get an overview of the areas, like how many treeplots are still empty, how many cats I got etc, because it gets really hard keeping track of all the things you have already done in an area.

It would be nice to have a personal storage chest in the villages or to have at least a quick way to the farms.

Also I got stuck for about 1-2 minutes behind this observatorium building near the village in the forest. I jumped down from the mountain and landed behind the building between two stones which didn't look as if they would make me stuck. I had to jump around for quite some time to get out of there since my jumps got blocked from the building.

All other things considered it is so far a really great game and I'm enjoying it quite a bit. :HappyMask:

I love reading you guys responding to people in the forum. Sounds like you guys still have a lot of tricks up your sleeve for Yonder, and I'm excited to see what is in store.

Would you mind so much to post the getting stuck one in the bug forum! We're trying to stamp out collision issues as they are found and that'd help a heap! Getting stuck sucks :( Sorry about that.

Are you using the storage chests on the farms? And just finding your prefernece is to have them in the village? Or did you not know about the farm storage ones?

I have an arm up my sleeve.... dunno what you are talking about ;)
Sorry... as you can tell I'm the one who wrote a lot of the terrible puns.

Well I just had the feeling that always when I needed a specific ressource that I had to walk a long way to a farm. Since the quests are mostly in the villagey I always was looking for a chest when I was in a city. But yea that may just be me being lazy since there are farms all over the place and when I'm done with the quests I won't need the chests in the villages anyway...

Understood. I get that it's a bit of a 'horder' thing going on. I am holding this just in case.

I'll mull this around in my head a bit more!

Did you make the "wood axe" pun in the carpenter's guild? Because I absolutely LOST IT at that point.

I havent gotten very far yet in game, I will this weekend. But since feedback is being put in here....I wonder if theres anyway to ride some of the animals in game as a means of fast travel, swim or the ability to jump farther to get to places that cant be traversed by foot? Possibly the ability to craft an assortment of saddles with different affects for specific types of animals? Maybe even add them in quests, such as "tie a rope to your mount and help pull a cart out of a rut", etc...

What about underwater exploring? Would be cool to explore the ocean for resources or special caves, questing, etc...

Multiplay with friends would also be cool!

Yes, i think there are many many people wanting and needing more storage space. I think its great if we have our backpack + 1 other type of worldly storage as we are having now, just that wordly storage should be much, MUCH bigger. And backpacks should be upgradable to more slots. (else i dont see the point in wearing a new backpack if its just for the looks?

OMG me too!!! Hahha :D Puns are the best :)
I guess I'll add in some feedback here as well. I've posted a bit elsewhere but, why not.

Possible additions that may benefit the game:

-A mount system, wherein we can saddle some of the animals we adopt and utlize their faster run speeds for faster transport.

-Being able to fix up those broken houses scattered around is a great idea, and while I've seen some people like the fact that there are no house interiors, perhaps it could benefit the region to repair some of these abandoned hovels.

-Perhaps some notification of the rewards gained from quests. Not being able to garden until you reach Mastery of the Carpenter's Guild sort of makes sense, and doesn't bother me, but knowing that was what I needed to do in order to plant crops on my land would have been helpful.

-Make it so that a new quest doesn't automatically set itself to active. Talking to folks and then having to reset my compass back to what I was originally trying to do is a little annoying.

-As mentioned, larger stocks of Mortar or a Mortar recipe. That goes for Glue, too. I'm always trecking back to the carpenter's merchant to buy every single unit of glue.

-The ability to craft larger backpacks, perhaps as a perk of Mastering the Tailor's Guild

....I'll possibly think of more but for now that's what's at the front of my mind.

I going to move this into the Feedback forum as I think there's a lot of cool discussion going on in here.

Quick longterm thoughts we have:
- Rare potions you can craft for teleport
-- I am loath for quick teleport because I dont ever want Yonder to be a map game. I feel if teleport becomes too easy people just zoom around the world and miss the world of yonder.

-Farms and more engagement with farms we've discussed and are considering
-- this includes daily quests or such to an inbox of some sort that you can engage with more

-Homes and LOTS of content to build homes
-- cos homes are cool.
-- these would likely be placed near farms for a few reasons and wouldn't be build anywhere (build anywhere would wreck havok on our terrain)

These are some major points we've been talking about.... I know mounts would be amazing, but we'd need to look into it further. Each animal being a different size means it'd be quite a lot of work to do mounts for all animals... so we are thinking on this.
