More Animals in Farm

So I have opened up another 2 farms in the map, the first farm created while questing main story & it has 2 animals, for the second farm I could lure in one fox type animal but that’s it, tried another bigger animal but I don’t get the pop up to keep it inside the farm and care for it, and after a while the animal runs out of the farm back to the wild.

How to obtain more animal into the pen please?

I do have one empty, the bigger size pen. The smal one has one fox animal type in it.

Did you lure the animal to the farm & then build the pen?

I do this all the time & get the same result. The animal must cross the farm's boundries AFTER the pen is built & placed.

If the animal is in the farm before you build & place the pen. It'll just wander. What you need to do is just feed it again, walk it out of the farm boundries, & then walk it back in. You should get the message for adoption when the animal reenters the farm.

Also make sure you are building the right pen for the right animal. Large animal needs a large pen & small needs small. If you're not sure what pen the animal will need. Check your note book. Look for the animal you're trying to catch in list under the animal tab. There will be a brief description of the animal & an entry showing it's size(Large/Small).

Just to clarify "Chicken_Sammich's excellent reply, you need one pen for each animal. Not each breed of animal, each animal. And you need a big pen for big animal, and a small pen for a small animal. If an animal follows you into a farm while you have a vacant pen of the right size, you will get an offer to keep it.

Once you have an animal in the farm, it does not need feeding but will poo everywhere. You can either clean the poo up yourself or hire a farm hand to do it.

Thank you both, I built a pen or each animal size since the begining, noticed the animal wandering inside the farm but never got the pop up, am going to try to refeed and reenter. About the crazy pooping, seriously XD...I immediately hired someone to clean it up!

There's an achievement if you clean up a certain amount of poop yourself. It doesn't take much work to get that achievement. Then you can hire someone. I am rather annoyed that the poop is useless. You can't use it as fertiliser, for instance.
