PINK/BLACK SCREEN? Here's what to do...

Pink screen

Pink screen/graphics means that your graphics card is unable to draw a shader - this can happen for a number of reasons (e.g. not meeting the min requirements), but the most common is the lack of a windows update on Windows 7.

We've found that some Windows 7 users are getting this issue, it's caused by Windows 7 only supporting DirectX 11 and not supporting the DirectX 11.1 extension out of the box - this requires a windows update to fix:

1) Go to:
https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=36805

2) Click download and choose Windows6.1-KB2670838-x64.msu (this is the 64bit version, the other is 32bit which you don't want)

3) Install, reboot, and the game should work correctly!

If you continue to experience the issue...
It's possible that your GPU doesn't meet the min requirements of the game. Make sure your GPU (not your OS/install) supports DirectX 11. We've had reports that a number of Intel HD GPU's are only compatible with DirectX 10.1 for instance, which we're currently toying with supporting.

Black screen

Good news on the black screen at startup issue - IT (should) BE FIXED!
Simply launch the game, it'll prompt you to update with a specific VC++ Redist if you didn't already have it, and there you go - fixed :)

Thanks for your patience, this has been a big undertaking to find a solution; thankyou to all the people who sent logs and suffered through me using them as test subjects! We appreciate it :)

I've OS Windows 8.1 and had same problems: After the Studio and Publisher Logo i just had Blackscreen and a white hand cursor. I download the Visual C++ 2012 x64 and the newest Graphic Card update of NVIDIA, now it seems playable (:

Same problem. The game opens, shows the logos but get just a black screen with no audio

4.00 GB RAM

Still having pink screen after downloading Windows6.1-KB2670838-x64.msu. It told me that I already had the latest version when I tried to install it.

Try installing vcredist_x64.exe
Let me know if there's any change or if it's still black screen; I'm trying to get a handle on the windows 8.1 updates that are needed still :)

I had the same problem and am using windows 8 i installed it but it didn't fix anything
