Not that abandoned, it's finished but it has potential for more but devs just cut off all communication about the game's future.
tldr; It's finished product but in the limbo of "update for more contents"
The game is not abandoned: it's being updated for new versions of Windows and if new bugs are found.
thanks for clearing that up for everyone, when i meant abandoned i thought it was no longer getting minor content updates .
However, as you say, you should not be expecting more content for Yonder. It might happen, but nobody has announced it, and there are no obvious gaps to fill.
i don't own this game but i am closely following this it will be awesome if every now and then the game gets minor content updates would make it much more enjoyable :)
you say you don't own this game
i have hesitated for a year before i bought it & quite frankly i regretted not to have bought it earlier
it's a uniquely beautiful world, if you want to enjoy the game & not just rush to finish the main story, then around 70 hours are possible
replayability though is limited since it has that main story, if that is finished & some of the more elaborate quests also, what remains is very repetitive short quests game, so not really that enjoyable
i encourage everybody interested in a game where fight, war, combat is not any main content to buy Yonder & play it, it's more than worth it, even if there shouldn't be any more to it in the future than it is now
i wish there were new stories released, the world of Gemea is waiting & so are still many faithful fans, i hope the devs come back & let us all enjoy the world they've created once again anew
so if a player loved a game so wishes to continue
especially games in open world suggest there are more stories possible, more life in the side quests, more options to explore, to craft, to interact
some games just beg to have more stories included, Yonder is one of those games
& a game is far from being a chair
a game is not at its basis an everyday object, it's a medium, a medium of information & entertainment
you use rarely a chair to get informed about something unless you study object design
& you will have a hard time to find a chair which could be entertaining
