Is it possible to reposition the window when it's in borderless mode? Yes or no?
If yes, how?
There are three different view modes in game: Full Screen, Windowed Mode, and Borderless Windowed Mode. Full Screen makes the game Full Screen. Windowed Mode puts the game into a window, and Borderless Windowed Mode puts it into a window that lacks a border - no top bar or anything else.
Now, the game does *not* allow you to resize the window to whatever you'd like - instead you have to pick from a list of pre-determined, common resolutions, and then it will resize the fullscreen view and/or the window itself accordingly. This is great for Full Screen, but it's not so great for Windowed Mode because it does not account for the window border / header in the screen size (or your windows task bar either, for that matter). Therefore, if you have windowed mode set to a resolution that has the same height as your monitor in Windowed Mode, the very bottom of the game will be cut off. However, in Borderless Windowed Mode, this does not happen because you don't have the window border & header taking up space and forcing the game a little lower.
Why would you ever play the game in a resolution the same height as your monitor but not the same width? Why, I'm glad you asked!
I do this because for chill collectathon games like Yonder, I like to play them sometimes while watching Netflix on the side. To do this, I can't have Yonder be full screen - instead, I want it to take up only part of the screen, so that I can have a video up on the other part of the screen. Since the game forces you into specific resolutions & window sizes, my options - if I want multiple things on the screen at the same time - wind up being 1. use Windowed Mode with the resolution the same height as my screen but narrower and just live with the bottom being cut off, 2. play at a resolution that does not take advantage of the full height of my screen, or 3. use Borderless Windowed Mode with the resolution at the same height as my screen but narrower and have nothing cut off.
However, option 3 becomes useless to me when I can't reposition the Borderless Window. Switching to Borderless Window Mode causes the game to snap to the upper lefthand corner of the screen, and I cannot find a way to reposition it. Ideally, I'd like it on the right side of my screen instead.
I made this thread because I wondered if anyone else was having the same issue I was having where you could not reposition the game when in Borderless Window Mode and if so, if they knew a solution to this.
I suggest looking into other Yonder forums. Good luck to you!
