How to bring animals to Hearthwind farm?
I was bringing a Silk Fox to the farm, but after reaching the bridge, the fox fell in the canyon...
Is there an easier way to bring animals to this farm!? ;u;

For the next two attempts I tried to line them up so they just had to walk straight to get on the bridge, and then keep in a straight line until they were off the bridge. The pathing for those animals isn't very good. I don't know of an easier way to get to that farm.

I managed to rescue the fox from the canyon, and successfully adopted it. The next Fabbit I found near the farm, after the bridge, so I didn't have to worry about it falling down....
I guess I should make a suggestion/bug thread to bring this to the devs attention.

It's ok :) I've read the thread. I'll see what we can do <3

How about once you've adopted an animal, you can tie a Traveler's Knot on it's collar and teleport it to another farm?

Also, would be really useful to have a western ramp up to the Hearthwind Farm.

The game needs to be difficult in some way. Otherwise it turns into a "walking simulator" where you can just walk through everything and then complain you finished it in five hours and it wasn't worth the money.

Oh, looks like a troll from the little island I just unlocked got away from the game and turned up here! :o

And thanks, Tart Wand! I absolutely adore Yonder~

i may have begun to take undue joy from creating the largest animal trains i could put together and lemming them off this bridge while i cackled gleefully.

but yeah, after spending several days trying to carefully walk a single silk fox across this bridge i gave up getting any animals to the farm and covered it in trees instead.

I managed it. The fabbit I wanted to cross the bridge always fell of on the right hand side before entering the bridge. So when I entered the bridge next time I kept close to the opposite fencing of the bridge and moved very slowly. Although the fabbit still had its lemming tendency towards the canyon rim It was pulled enough to my (left) side to just make it onto the bridge after what seemed a hard decision.

Had I not read this thread I would have likely declared this as "not supposed to work".

Old thread, I know, but for anyone playing the game nowadays I FINALLY figured out a good way to bring animals across that darned bridge! :O

...and here's a screenshot to prove I pulled it off too!

SO, the main issue I noticed is that the pathfinding isn't updated to consider the bridge as valid once you've built it, so when you try to lead an animal across it THINKS you're at the bottom of the cliff and takes the path of least resistance down the side. However, the way the pathfinding works is incredibly simple and prefers to walk in straight lines, so one way you can pull this off is if you can get across the bridge BEFORE the animal following reaches the bridge AND keep the bridge perfectly straight between you and the animal the whole time. Do this and it should follow you most of the way across without issue!

...but... I also found that it was easy to just... MISS the bridge trying to cross it in this manner. :|

Thus, OPTION 2: Get TWO animals!

Bring them both as close as you can to one of the posts on the bridge without stepping off of the rocks, then swing around and walk towards and past the other post very slowly. The pathing will cause the animals to get a little closer to the bridge than they normally would and because two are following you, once they stop moving the collision will gently push one of them out of the other. Because they're now in each other's way in an idle state this should make it possible to quickly get across the bridge before the pathfinding is able to kick in enough to start moving them so that you can get to the other side and once again, the pathfinding will give up and just make them go straight across!

Again though, the animals are a little confused so any you bring across this bridge will not want to step off it very easily at the other side. Move around to various spots and eventually they'll figure it out. :B
