Marriage?
Is there a marriage mechanic in the game?

No marriage at launch. It's something I'd REALLY love to do, however.
I just want to make sure the writing is good enough for it :)

You can, however, befriend townspeople.

Ooh, I hope that does become a thing. I need romance to live. <3

*necroing this* When Marriage or even children become a thing, im all in! I am really on the verge of getting it at launch, but marriage is what would make a peaceful farming life complete for me!

I followed development quite close and yonder connects about every gaming aspect i love.

Keep up the good work!

I really appreciate your honesty [ ASH ] Arathok :)

My main reason for not having marriage right now is because of the writing side. I (personally) think it needs to be done well, to make it true to its predecessors. I don't just want to tack on some badly written dialogue as I feel that would do injustice to everyones expectations.

Right. I also don't want any of you guys to rush anything.

is there a % chance that marriage will come? Or do you say it will come definetly but needs some time?

If it comes, perhaps as an update, where you have to befriend the marriage candidate beforehand so you can implement marriage smoothly into existing saves?

Any updates we do, I'd want to keep save files intact.

And while I can't promise anything, relationships are on my list of things I'd love to get in for DLC.

Sounds good!

I must confess that I enjoy a lot the romance side of games like Harvest Moon, Stardew Valley or World's Dawn.
So, hopefully we gonna get a DLC in the future.
And also, I hope that my future female character will be able to romance another girl. Not like those new Harvest Moon or Story of Seasons. :sarah5:

I have to agree, I found that my biggest problem with stardew was the marriage.
Most of the canidates were kind of lame and then after the marriage nothing really happened.
Then the kids... If we get kids in the future dlc could we maybe give them small tasks or something?

I love what the game looks like it's offering so far but gonna add I'm one of those people on the list looking/hoping that there will be marriage in the game. That would really win it for me and it just has to (hopefully) have it where you can romance the same gender. More and more games have that option, it's sad some newer games don't but hoping this game will be open to that if marriage becomes a thing and then following hopefully kids as well.

I'd probably marry Kari just because she helped me so much with finding those cats LOL!

But...but isn't the character a child?

Ah, it would be wonderful to have a dlc that includes marriage. That's what's missing in this game.
