This game is from 1995 and it needs 1GB RAM
Did people have 1GB RAM in 1995? But more importantly, wasn't this game released for DOS? Lol.

Lol. I don't get it. The devs shouldn't increase the system requirements because they fear that people wouldn't purchase the game because of its old age. Doing so would give it an illusion that this re-release is a "remake" and thus creates certain expectations.

I like also how you need a minimum of 357mb space but you only really need 1mb for the reccommended lol.

Be aware that it's not counting the RAM that the game itself needs, but the RAM that the system needs, and that current systems obviously need more RAM than DOS (one of the original release platforms). It wouldn't make sense to put in the requiments that you need 2MB of ram on your system because none of the Windows from the requirements (xp-10) would ran on it, and even less would ran the game on top of that.

Was on the CD I if I remember correctly. Could be wrong, but I recall a game called "Eden" on the CD I.

Games back then mostly played off the discs hence the small file sizes. Wing Commander 3, if I'm not mistaken, was over a GB when computers back then averaged around having 400 MB so games played off discs rather than having to be fully installed. The RAM requirements are most likely for the emulation software.

I have the originally disc from 1995 and box and ran it on my DOS pc. it had about 40mb HDD and a first generation intel processor inside.
until i found the game in steam store, I still played the original disk on a pc with DOS and Windows 3.11. Wich stil works fine.

I can tell, that the originally Lost Eden file is a .BAT file and that file are about 360MB big. Its correct that you in the prompt typed eden and then the game started.
TO play the game on a modern Win 10 you need a program called DOSbox, and thats why the recom. for 1gb of RAM is there. Not because of the game! but the Emulator to run it.

All in this game is in orginal shape, sound, grafic ets. Nothing changed! Witch is good and nice.

Can confirm what Kashra said. My grandpa used to have a Philips CD-i player. we would play anything from Dino's Quest to Zelda's Wand of Gamelon on that thing.

My original game was on a CD-ROM.

It's likely the emulation and recreating the runtime environment that takes memory.
