Game too hard or just me?
I'm playing it on easy against 3 opponents and am having a hard time juggling tenant complaints, enemies taking over my fences and running out of money. Is this how it's supposed to be or am I doing something wrong?

Hello, Host of the Nightmare. Spooky! How are you doing? :)

In short, yes, if you're new to the game this is how things are supposed to be but we have a few things that you can alter to give yourself a little more breathing room!

You can toggle the AI to attack each other in Options -> Gameplay -> Attack AI Teams -> Yes which should help take some of the pressure off of you. :)

You can also adjust the AI build speed in Options -> Gameplay -> Build Speed. If you set it to anything below 100% then they will build a little slower.

As for the tenant complaints, as you learn what makes them tick you'll be able to avoid some of the complaints altogether. However, if you don't want to have complaints/missions you can also choose "War Mode" and practice building up your town and simply focusing on dealing with the AI.

Are there any particular complaints that you're having trouble with at the moment?

Thank you @BrightPaw, turning on 'Attack AI Teams' might be just what I need. The game is fantastic, so I have no other complaints. I'm looking forward to the missions so that I have more structured objectives to play around.

Also, I want you to know that I really appreciate your patience and positive attitude in replying to people.

Thank you, I really do enjoy interacting with the fans and helping everyone out. Even though it can be a very busy time sometimes, I am very happy to give everyone a personal response tailored to their situation rather than reading it off a script. I hope I have been helpful in helping you with your Constructor the game problems. If I was helpful please fill out a short survey at the end of this communication.

Regards,

System 3 BrightPaw. /joke

Anyways, when I play Constructor I usually have the AI teams attacking each other turned on as it makes the game a lot more interesting in my opinion. I think you'll quite enjoy seeing the AI mess each other up too! :fhappy:

The missions are coming *in my best GoT impression*, but we've had to hold off on them due to the number of issues that other people were experiencing with the game. :( This has meant that we've had to spend more time fixing things, and due to the relatively small size of the team this means we need to pick which areas we focus on very carefully.

We would also like to get the next two localisations out before we start writing the new text so that any of our Russian/Polish fans can enjoy them too. We know it's been a very long time since we first announced missions so we do appreciate the amount of patience everyone has shown.

Hopefully they'll be worth the wait, though. :)

I feel your pain, i played the original on ps1 at the tender age of 8....it didnt often go well...much easier now.

Start playing a game with no opponents, get a feel for the build order, the functions of the other buildings and the demands of the various tenants.

Once you are comfortable with the add in an opponent and try not to start next to each other, if you can.

Makes sure you get a hippy commune early in order to ensure that you can handle the inevitable insta fail tasks the council will throw at you at the start.

Use the hippy to distract the opponents with a street party out the front of whatever building you need to demolish.

You will get the hang of it, but this game has a failry steep learning curve and a fair amount of micro management that can take some getting used to.

Don't forget the "Attack AI Teams" toggle. :) We believe this has made the game more approachable for those who disliked the original 3v1 which was wholly intended if a little mean. :P

You can also use the hippy to picket enemy factories (wood is the most devastating picket choice as it can put just about everything building on hold) which will halt their production whilst the hippy remains. Additionally, if you use thieves to steal resources from their factories you will also stop them from being able to build for a period of time.
