Duke Nukem Forever
Very choppy at 60 FPS...?
DNF runs extremely choppy, even though the FPS counter says it's at a constant 60 FPS. Graphics could be set from Low to Ultra, doesn't matter, it's unplayable, I can't move or aim. It's always a rock-solid 60 FPS slide show. How is that even possible?

You have v-sync turned on? Sounds like it since you are using a gtx 670. I do use v-sync on some games successfully but this isn't one of them. I'm using a 3770k and GTX 680. 1080p with everything maxed out except v-sync off.

Turn vsync off. Alway's turn v-sync off lol.
Guess we'll never know. Now it just crashes. dnf.exe caused an error, etc, etc... Had to uninstall.

Do you like screen tearing or do you have a 120hz monitor?

i play a lot of games with vsync on , all of them at 60FPS . Without a 120 monitor i need vsync as i cant stand screen tearing.

I turn v-sync on, not because of screen-tearing, but because usually, without it, my processor fan is the audio equivalent of having a concrete slab dropped on your head. Screen tearing I can live with. Noise? No, no, no.

With regards to the OP, have you uninstalled the AMD Dual Core Optimiser that the game sees fit to infect your system with? I remember seeing that that could cause stuttering issues with Intel CPU's. Never been a problem for me, but you never know. Besides, it's just taking up space on your system.
Yea, that's the first thing I did. It didn't work.

I'll redownload the whole shebang since there's nothing else to do. It's really odd that DNF would run so poorly on my newer rig than on my older.

Same choppyness on the GTX 580 and on the GTX Titan also.

Chopyness on a TITAN?! .....lol okay some patching needs to be done then (knowing it won't happen) That implies the game is optimized a tad bit....bad....and I love DNF. But dude a Titan...that thing runs arma 3 at 60 FPS at ALL times.
