The endings of the first game leave a lot of space for future developments, that's for sure. If you choose to stay with "Raze" in Inferno then you might end up in Ravage in the future, if you travel with Ari then you might go anywhere, Ravage included, if you rendezvous with Brash you can tell him to meet in Ravage and even if you don't, you might end up meeting there regardless.
I definitely enjoy the introduction of the Apocalypse and the Wingless One, as they played a prominent role in the original modules and I'm looking forward to the sequel, whenever it might be.
Personally I hope to keep playing as Bright, maybe with an import save system or with a few dialogue options defining who you were and what happened at the end of the last chapter. But it could be that we'd get to play as another demonheart and meet Bright along the way... Maybe as Love herself?
I may or may not be a tad too attached to the original modules...
So, what I am hoping to is to have a save import system and continue as our Bright.
I think in Ari's ending it's also mentioned they're on the way to Ravage
I too hope for a sequel that picks up from Bright's perspective. It's her story and relationships that I'm invested in.
(Please someone spoil for me who Love is now)
Many games where if a character leaves or dies you usually just end up missing dialogue or a specific scene/quest. It's not impossible. It would only be bad if You did love Ari and Dorius killed her like uhhh welp . Also that's the beauty of a choice game. Because of your choice so and so left, died, or you never even met. It branches out to so many different possibilities. Not everyone will have the same outcomes.
I suppose it all depends on how much of a role all the cast would have in the sequel.
I feel like whoever you ended up with or didn't, personality, and then how things ended up will determine the start of the second game. Like I honestly feel like it wouldnt make sense to start the game as a new character. Too much getting introduced to have the new character have like a quick summary of things versus Bright who had experienced everything just to follow up where she left off.
It also makes me more sure that Bright is who we'll be continuing with, as in every ending where she remains alive the variables aren't /too/ wild to account for with some clever writing. (Dragon Age and Mass Effect have worked with far worse circumstances.) It also doesn't make too much sense narratively to jump ship at this point either. Especially since half the endings feel like 'to be continued' baits.
Ari romance/ Brash romance. Who is dead/alive?
What about the small Raze and adult Raze and the apocalypse at the end of the game? Is adult Raze still an ally or do you freed the small Raze?
Adult Raze romance and the question how to stop your aging to live forever with him.
You can pick up the original Neverwinter Nights Diamond edition pretty easily on GOG, it's very cheap when it's on sale. There's also NWN: Enhanced Edition here on Steam, but that's a tad more expensive. Downloading the modules themselves is easy enough, but be prepared for some serious mature/trigger content at times :p
In the original storyline Thayn was in the same prison as you were, in Feline, and you could hear him calling out to a certain "Love". Near the end of the modules there was a cutscene with her, as well, and her full name was Love Jayden (presumably Rose's sister?). She was an Hunter like Lord Mace, meaning she was constantly looking around for new hearts to devour to improve her powers.
