I cant move and I do not see my controllers / hands in game. If I bring up the steam menus I can see my controllers just fine though.
Is room setup different from what the room overview option displays? I feel like that's already been set up. I can see the virtual walls inside the headset just fine.
I could try redoing the room setup later today if you think its the cause.
Edit: Forgot to say that I'm also experiencing this with my Oculus. SteamVR is at 1.2.10. Main branch of GORN.
Some people don't have hands appearing in GORN, although hands/controllers appear in other games. It does not seem to be limited to people with either an Oculus or Vive headset. Some oculus users have reported that setting up their boundaries does fix the issue. Vive users with similar problem say that doing room setup does not solve the issue.
These kinds of things usually involve some sort of weird interaction with a user setup and some incorrect assumption on our side. We don't ever 'switch off' the hands in GORN intentionally, so likely there is some bug or error during hand setup. I'm trying to figure out what users that have this issue might have in common so that we can start trying to narrow down a cause.
So, if you have this issue, can you please just let us know a) which headset you have b) if you have any weird peripheral devices (anything other than the VR set and a standard gamepad) c) if verifying the local cache does anything d) if you ever installed any GORN mods.
It's a bit of a guessing game until we can find something that the users have in common, but I'm sure we can get this fixed.
- no additional devices
- a gamepad
- a virtual controller driver (MixCast)
I can try re-setting up my tracking in the Oculus software and see what happens.
My 2 cents: it might be worth offering a "rollback" branch on Steam for folks hitting some of the issues introduced recently since we're fans of the game and want to keep using it :)
I have redone the Oculus software. I can try and purge the cache.
Could it be LIV?
