GORN

Is this game a hard pass?
Literally every review mentions how the reviewer destroyed a controlled our his room or his desk or tower.

I am stuck in a fairly small standing area until I move at the end of the year. Are all of these reviews hyperbole or is this game designed for a room size area? Should I even bother if I don't have a massive area of play?

I have a carpet that I use for GORN, I can feel when I'm out of the "SAFEZONE". Practically solved most of my problems

Natural Locomotion (or using the control stick for movement) helps a lot with this.

Stand up and swing your arms rapidly. Maybe even crouch down on the ground and try grabbing invisible stuff. If you have no issues of running into anything or hitting stuff, then you should be good. There's a demo if you really want to test it out, but the game is fun as hell

Yeah. It looks awesome. I am in a tiny area at the moment. I have a two year old and my area has been invaded. We are getting much larger space once my lease ends. Going to grab it once I have some swinging room and mash some heads!

I've bubble wrapped all the walls in my VR room because of this game. It saved my controllers a bunch of times. I do not have any furniture in it either.

Not moving the body around is pretty boring tbh.

I have solved the same issue by only playing in standing mode and using a anti-fatigue mat that is about the same size as the standing room indicator, that way it's obvious when you are on the mat and when you are straying too close to walls. Really, any floor covering that is noticeably different from your actual floor would work, but the anti-fatigue mat seemed perfect for the job.

Very fun, and addictive. Didn't think it would be so entertaining, steam store doesn't give it justice. Graphics are just the right amount of toon versus believability. Controls are very fluid. And you feel quite the accomplishment for surviving a free for all. Get it.

Put a small rug under your feet in the center of your room and never move off it, that way you can move around in vr in a full 360 degress and step in all directions without ever getting near the walls. I have a rug and a pulley system thanks to that i never hit anything. Also this wont work if you literally live in a tiny ass room.

At least for this game, and anything else punchy like blade & sorcery. True, it's somewhat immersion breaking to have an outline of your room space on the ground at all times, but the number of times I've smashed something with my controllers has sharply dropped to zero.

Agree with this , $1000 Monitor > immersion haha
