because this makes playing with a controller impossible
When the screen says "press any key" - press a button on the controller. The starting menus should then say press "A button" to confirm (instead of "Enter"). If you touch the keyboard once the game is launched, it will mess it up.
I'm using an X360 controller & had no issues from the start. Hope this helps, or someone else replies, & you're able to play with the controller.
Good luck!
That is how I usually start the game. Still, thank you for answering. ;)
When I start it with keyboard only it clearly seperates the two control schemes (P1 keyboard; P2 pad). No matter what I do it seems that the game can't seperate the second player from the gamepad controls. It only does if I change the controls AFTER he is already there but as soon as he's gone it connects him to the gamepad again.
I never had such a weird problem with a Lego game before, neither with my old 360 controller or the XB1 controller :(
The problem seems to be the driver for the controller.
The auto driver that Windows 10 installs identifies the XB1 controller just as a "Xbox Controller" (in the device manager you can see this). Some games I played had a problem with this driver though (Dynasty Warriors; I am Setsuna). Because of this I installed the official XB1 driver, which works fine for pretty much any game I play.
Except for this one as it turns out. I changed the driver again and it works fine now.
how can u fix that, i use win 10, and i don't know how to fix. i want play vibration
How exactly do you get the 'official XboX controller' driver? Where can we download it from?
I guess somewhere on Microsoft's site, but where exactly.
I can't understand why this problem is only happening with this particular LEGO game as I have loads more and they don't produce this error unless you set the controller settings to allow Steam config. I reckon 'they' have messed with the code that controls the controller movement, which I can't understand why as it should be universally the same with ALL LEGO games, just port the code across each LEGO game and that's it.
[EDIT]
I have just received 2 new XboX WIRED controllers and I am STILL having the issue of the controller setup showing on screen when I press any of the four coloured buttons, A,B,X,Y. I have no idea how this problem can be fixed, other than the game controller section be re-written.
Dude thank you so much!!! i was looking for it so much time and this just helped me! thanks again ;)
