FIX: Resolution and graphics settings

Go into your User Profile directory: %AppData%\Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment\LEGO City Undercover
and edit the 'pcconfig.txt' with the desired resolution etc. I recommend using Notepad++ and backing up the file before changing anything. Works for me!

It isn't really a bug because this happens on many games. You have to set the resolution to match your screen, to low will make it pixelated while to high will slow it down and sometimes result in only being able to see the a corner of your screen. Though there are many half done things in the game. It might be safe to say they didn't even pass the bare minimum of changes before bringing it to steam.

I noticed that whilst you can select 4k in the options it wasn't actually enabled. Pressing the info button on my Samsung TV remote showed the game was still playing at 1080p. I followed Rickyboy3000's instructions and 3840x2160 was enabled and the game looks great (for a Lego game).

4k introduces stuttering in split screen co-op but I fixed this (mostly) by disabling FSAA: Edge AA in the effects menu (as edge AA is not needed at 4k). And I also created a game profile to set Vsync to half refresh rate, in the Nvidia control center. I'm happy with a smooth 30fps for this type of game and the engine was designed for this speed, as it's a console port.

I'm having great fun playing co-op with my young son. It's his favourite game since Knack.

Glad I could help. Enjoy gaming with your son while he's still young. I have fond memories playing co-op LEGO games and Borderlands with my son. He is 17 now and only plays hardcore multiplayer games like ARMA 3, CSGO and PUBG with his mates. He wouldn't be seen dead playing with his Dad now!
