The Ranked Experience

[Soul Walker]

-Play Placements against Bronze players only
-Win all 10 Placements
-Placed Bronze 1
-Fight up the Ladder against the same 5 players in Bronze
-Place Silver
-Fight up ladder, come across the only Gold Player Online that is stuck in Gold because no other Gold Players Online
-Slowly Grind against the same 5 Bronze Players til Silver Promo Match
-Silver Promo Match against the only Gold Player
-Lose against Gold Player
-Lose 300 points in ranked
-Fight same Gold Player for the rest of Silver until you quit for the night

Mine was:
-Launch the game for the first time then play the tutorial for 2 hours.
-Gets confident and try out ranked mode.
-Wait 10 minutes for a match only to face a level 50 Shadow Jago and, obviously, lose.
-Wait about 10 minutes, again, to face a smurf Tusk playing the floor is lava, instead of KI, who breaks every combo. Lose.
-Gets matched up with the same ♥♥♥♥♥♥ Tusk above, after 5 or so minutes of searching. Alt + f4.
-Quit ranked for the time being.

I can guarantee that the Shago & Tusk player are Console KI players that went and transitioned to PC. Technically not smurfing because there's no cross progression from Console.

So what's your problem? You lose to the same guy 3 times, maybe you are not ready yet.
Steam ranked are full of bronze/silver jagos who don't know wth they're doing, just jump and mash LP - just fight them.
In gold and killer there are either guys who will double perfect you or the same dumb button mashers who get bodied all the time and lose their points.
But we don't even have 32 top guys, so buy the end of the month everybody will get their top killer star, yey.

My problem is that there aren't enough players in the ranked pool for steam and it's causing this stagnant growth in skills. And a chunk of Gold players should be in Killer but because there's so little online they can't progress past it.

yeah they need to do something, if not at least let people waiting in training mode...queue time for ranked is too long (but also when I wait for exhibition, and has crossplay).
It's more the time i idle on the screen for searching a match than the actual match.

I'm wanting to fight with people are around my skill park. I want to really feel like I'm actively learning again.

Well, I fought all those Jagos when I was killer already, so you are not blocked from anybody

And if you really want to play with people who know how to do it, you should search in exhibition for crossplatform players
