Hi Combo Breakers - Livvy here, Community Director at Xbox Publishing! On behalf of the entire KI team, thanks for a great ten years of KI 2013. If you're joining us for the first time, welcome - and if you're an old fan, welcome back!

If you previously purchased Killer Instinct on Steam and were automatically updated to the Anniversary Edition, you may see that the Anniversary Edition is not listed as "owned" on the Killer Instinct Store Page. If this is the case, log out of your Steam account for a minute and re-login. This should resolve the issue. You do NOT need to buy the Anniversary Edition if you have previously purchased KI on Steam - even if it's showing up as purchasable for you, you should have it available in your DLC.

If you're having a hard time accessing the Anniversary Edition, try right-clicking on the game in your Library, then click Properties > DLC.

We are also investigating reports of the Steam Deck version of Killer Instinct Anniversary Edition not launching as intended. We are looking into this and will provide more information on this thread as soon as we can.

Closing and re-opening the Steam client fixed the issue for me.

Hi, problem with steam deck. I play on it, and always get a runtime error when exiting. Well, I was waiting for this patch, hoping for a fix... after downloading, steam installed the game files and just got stuck at 100%. It might have been easier to just download 50 gigabytes again. And now, after two hours of updates... when starting the game, it says “you are not logged into your Steam account, the game is not possible”. Has anyone else run it on deck, maybe I'm not the only one with this error? There is a solution?

Hi there! Some folks have found a fix by going into Properties and switching the compatibility tool to Proton Experimental. Would you be able to update and let us know if that helps for the time being?

Greetings. Just updated the game, and, sadly, it crashes right at it's launch.
i7-5775C, 16 GB RAM, GTX 1080 8 GB; all drivers up to date.

I have a strong suspicion that the game's system requirements have been changed (I use Win7 x64 right now, but most probably will upgrade to 10 in 2024). Could that be the source of this problem? Because, just before this update, game ran good without showing any problems at all. And if it is so - PLEASE change game's sysreqs for the gamers so that they would be aware of that.

When I try to run the game now, I get a message saying that I'm not logged into a Steam profile and the game closes. A few days ago, I was able to play the game without issue, and earlier today I was able to play a different fighting game on Steam that I'm pretty sure required me to be logged in to Steam for the online matches I played in that game. Logging out of Steam and back in didn't help.

Hi, there seems to be an issue with the price of the game in Mexico. Before, KI cost $39.99 in the US, and about $20 in Mexico. It was priced regionally, and it was fair.

But now that it's gone F2P, the full upgrade costs $29.99 in the US... and $41 in Mexico?

Could you maybe look into that, please?

Hi, I discovered an issue not related to the ones laid out in the OP.

It appears the replay system is broken. I played a match, then went to watch the replay of that match and things were happening differently than how they went in the live match and then the replay ended before the match was over.

It was a match between Jago and Orchid that had this issue. I just did a match between Tusk and RAAM and didn't notice any issues with the replay.

brah come to the dark side. you surely have reservations about going to win 10. i held out as long as i could on win 7 thanks to valve, steamdeck, proton, wine you can switch to linux! and be free. well only thing i miss is the crew 2

My game is not updating to the Anniversary Edition, but I think have a very unique issue. It turns out I've been playing on the Steam Beta version of KI that I received for free in 2017. Could this be why i'm not able to download the DLC?

The characters profile pics during battle are mess up is there a fix to this ? Its better not to have the profile art pics in battle to be honest

Steam has moved to regional pricing based on US dollars and you are likely seeing that. You should direct your question to Steam representatives. Iron Galaxy has no control over it.

Steam has moved to regional pricing based on US dollars and you are likely seeing that. You should direct your question to Steam representatives. Iron Galaxy has no control over it.

This is a Microsoft-published game. They would be the ones that set the price. Not Steam / Valve.

If anything the Iron Galaxy devs would be the best ones to tell this to, since their game is published by them.

Edit: Also I pay in Mexican Pesos, have for years, I wasn't affected by the South American switchover to dollars.
