Does anyone actually know if KI1 will ever end up on either Steam or Windows versions?

It's currently still (and has always been, from what I've heard) exclusive to the XBOX One version of the game. Apparently KI1 was never 'ported' to the Windows or the Steam versions of this game.

1) Why?
2) Because right now if I want to play KI1 (and obviously I'd love to, played it a lot back then) the only way for me to play it is to emulate it via MAME, and obviously I don't want to do that because I don't have MAME to start with, and I would like to play it online anyways.
3) And of course, I don't have an XBOX One, nor am I interested to buy that system _just_ for KI1 classic.

Is this some licensing issue or something? Has it ever been actually explained?

1. because the old games are rated M and the new game is rated T
2. if you wanna play online, download Fightcade
3. they're supposed to be separating out the old KI games as separate titles on steam after the anniversary patch hits I think. but you're probably still gonna wanna go on fightcade if you actually wanna play retro fighting games online

Correct me if I'm wrong but last time I checked Fightcade it was just the SNES version of KI1 that was available. The version I'm talking about here is the Arcade port of KI1 which is on the XBOX One version of KI2013.

If Fightcade does have the XBOX One port of KI1 then I'll check that again.

Yeah, it's a shame that the classics are still not on Steam. Hopefully Microsoft will throw us a bone one day.
