Is multiplayer dead?

$10 for this beautiful looking game is an oppurtunity that I really don't want to pass up. But, judging from some of the reviews I've read on steam, I am getting the impression that this game is dead and no one is playing it and I really want to fight against other players. Please tell me there is life.

it may aswell be.. got matched up with the same guy 3 times in a row and every game i played was lag af... lag in a platform fighting game is not fun.. but for 10 bucks its worth it for the single player fun

People from the FGC have recommended purchasing the Microsoft Store version if you really want to play competitively. The Microsoft version has W10 and X1 ranked crossplay.

steam and w10 version are crossplatform but just in 1 or 2 modes

The Windows store version only supports windows 10. The steam version supports windows 7 and 8.

damn dude you got some hrs on this game lol i would say for sure you would pretty damn good.. i only bought this the other day after seeing it on sale. loved the game as a kid on the old super NES. what's your favourite fighter?

ahh ok kool. i have always preferred to use Cinder but Jago is pretty decent aswell.. im not hardcore into this game yet so i havent had a chance to test out many others. Do you use a controller or keyboard?

@jasonkik - if u can get the win10 version, get it but you can definitely get matches against the win10/xbone players via exhibition. once u 'get gud' ranked is really just for random matches and maybe testing out setups. most of the 'good' players jus play exhibition mode, lobbies, or sets (exhibition mode). Plus you can always find people looking for sets in 2 of KI's largest online communities (the forums - http://www.ultra-combo.com/forums and the KI Ultimate Fans facebook page - http://www.facebook.com/groups/killerinstinct2013). So you can do just fine with the steam version but you'll mostly use exhibition for online play. Lastly. there's offline and online tournaments. The best online tourney is Pharroh's Combo Killers. (www.facebook.com/PharrohComboKillersandMoreKi) There's a $2,000 pot bonus for that tourney. CEO in Orlando Florida is an offline that will feature KI and have a $15,000 pot bonus.
