PS3 controller not working on my PC

I've just installed KI on my laptop. First I downloaded it for free from Microsoft store. When I found out it came with just one player I decided to buy it from Steam for the whole thing. But first I tried to see if my PS3 controller would work which it did no problem. But for some reason, it doesn't work with the steam KI. :( The game shows it recognizes the controller, support is there, drivers etc.. on the top left corner I can see both my keyboard and controller are green, but yet no response to my controller just my keyboard. Can someone walk me through I might have missed something.. thanks in advance

You need drivers for DS3, either SCPToolkit or ViGEM/FireShock/Shibari set. Latter is harder to set up for PC newbies (CLI stuff with some manual config editing) but easier to use after that and uses less resources, first is easier to set up but eats a little more RAM (not that it makes much difference in 2021 with PCs that have more than 2Gb of RAM).

Download the official PS3 controller driver by downloading PSNow on PC (the Playstation Streaming service), here: https://www.playstation.com/en-us/ps-now/

You don't need to make an account, you don't even need to open the program once installed. The driver and the controller will work trough Steam.

Also, remember to check "Playstation controller support" under the Steam general controller settings, here: https://support.rocketleague.com/hc/article_attachments/360036619454/general_control_setting.png
