So how hard is KI for casuals?
I grew up playing KI 1 in the arcades then snes..best times ever, I dont recall ever been that good at it, but now I enjoy online gaming and well...I never been great at fighting games online (mainly cause people will always find a spam)
but some games are more easy to pick up and play and others you just get wrecked (Tekken 7 got refunded real quick)

I stuck with MKX awhile, but now? it just feels slow and meh...Too many cheap exploits (like Jason)

so how do you feel about this online?

p.s. its downloading now

you have combo assist to help you out. once you get the hang of it its great. you have to understand how to counter, since its nost as easy as combo breaker like the snes era.

game is great, and has the best netcode of any fighting game out there. if you want to play just add me.

The game is SUPER good for casuals, even without combo assist. Easy to learn, with enough meat on the bones for hardcore players too.

good to know, yeah some games just make you rage ...some are fun even if you lose, I could never figure out exactly what it is that triggers me personally

It's on Xbox so no it's not very hard when compared to other fighting games. Dead Rising was hard in comparison to the casualized sequel that is Dead Rising 4 for Xbox players.

I would consider this game very beginner friendly. As others stated, combo-assist definitely helps get your feet wet with the unique (and admittably daunting) combo mechanics. What makes it so beginner friendly for me is the tutorial. It's one of those fantastic tutorials that doesn't just dump you into doing combo-trials with a single character you know nothing about, it teaches you how to play fighitng games as a whole.

You start with the general "Hold Forward to walk forward, press X to Light Punch, etc." Eventually it teaches you the flow of combos, Openers > Autos > Linkers > Manuals > Enders, and how to maximize damage through them. Beyond that, it teaches you mind-games and deeper fighting game mechanics like frame data, hit boxes, and 7 different ways to punish Jago's Fireball. Eventually it culminates in a series of long, difficult combos that include everything you've learned, from wall-splats to Instinct Cancels to show you're ready to take on the world.

I simply adore this tutorial because, aside from the Killer Instinct specific mechanics like Combo Breakers and the Combo Meter, it teaches you everything you need to know about the entire genre. Mixups, frame traps, tick throws, mind games, and so on are all techniques that players in every fighting game out there makes use of. Giving new players a crash course on these is absolutely invaluable, as it can drastically lower the barrier of entry to other entries in the genre.

You're welcome! This is seriously one of my favorite games, and I'm over the moon to see it come to Steam and reach a larger playerbase.

combo assist = is a good tool for the begginers , I not use that I prefer the manual mode.
You should not play fighting games. If you think Tekken 7 was worth refunding, t his genre is not for your tender self. Online will always feel like ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ when someone wrecks you, no matter the game. The true problem lies within.

that or buy a fightin ggame that has a million hours of solo content like Guilty Gear.
