Doesn't launch. [Win 10] - Fixed!

Starts up, immediately goes to white screen and not responding.
Just updated all my drivers literally last week, dunno what the issue is. :(

editedit: rip and now i'm getting the black screen of death once the game actually launches. lmao.

e-e-e-edit breaker: I've isolated the issue into being the video setting changed from Fullscreen. I can start the game in fullscreen then change it to borderless but I have to put in a config file that has fullscreen if I want to open the game again. Hope this helps some people.

Not fixed:
- does not work with "Run at Date" program any longer (it did work a couple of years ago)
- full-screen files do nothing
- CTD's / freezes as the MS Studio splash -- Iron Galaxy being as far as it ever gets
- neither compatibility mode nor running as admin. does anything
- same problem on both Win-7 and Win-10

I supported this game for three season on XB1, and I'm not buying it for a fourth time from the Windows Store, just to get a game I own, working.

It's rather disgusting that a product can become inoperable at no fault of the user, and the sellers have no liability to get it working or even refund the customers that they've belatedly ripped off... Might need to look into the legal particulars of this... ⚠

What "way"... All the user seems to do is put the launcher into compatibility mode -- that's it. If that were the "fix", I doubt anyone would have had any problems in the first place 🙄

FIX: I had the same issue. Here is a workaround to fix it if you have access to a PC with the game working. Go to the working system Killer Instinct files in your steam apps folder > copy all files under the soundtrack (this will include startup resolution files) > save those files to a separate folder and share that with the non-working system > paste all files into the non-working KI folder and OVERWRITE the old files. I'm sure you could find these files online or ask a community member to share.

The issue has to do with windowed mode. The game stores its initial graphics settings in a simple 8 byte binary file called StartupResolutionOptions.bin

This file in default configuration with the fullscreen byte modified to "On" is as follows:

01 00 00 00 80 07 00 00

That first hex value (the "01") is the fullscreen byte. The rest are the default values which you can change later if you wish. If you create a document with those values in a hex editor (if you don't have one navigate to http://hexed.it for a simple online version), and then save it as "StartupResolutionOptions.bin" in your install directory, the game should start with no issues.

I have Sonic Studio 3 with same issue, but solution is quite simple, no need to uninstall re-install anything, just go to Windows taskbar, right click over the Sonic Studio 3 icon then left click on Exit and that's all, now launch Killer Instinct normally :)

Tengo Sonic Studio 3 con el mismo problema, pero la solución es muy simple, no hay necesidad de desinstalar o reinstalar nada, solamente hay que ir a la barra de tareas de Windows, click derecho sobre el ícono de Sonic Studio 3 y luego click izquierdo en Exit y eso es todo, ahora inicia Killer Instinct de forma normal :)

Year 2020 and I ran into this problem and removing Sonic Studio drivers was the fix and bam it worked! Hope this helps for anyone who still runs into this issue, Sonic studio is the crappy built in audio driver on windows.

I tried using on my older computer that has Windows 7 upgraded to Windows 10 and it works fine. But my Newer PC with Windows 10 installed it just wont work.
