To be honest MS shouldn't of bothered releasing on Steam if it wasn't willing to do any kind of real work in advertising or making sure old customers don't get ripped off. I can say I'm very shocked on how poorly MS handled the steam release.
It doesn't help that the game is so easy to play though. There is hardly any incentive to keep playing after you lvl the characters you like to 50. Everyone online mostly use combo assist, so everyone can play at a decent level. So being good doesn't have its perks like other fighting games where you dominate most players and feel like a god.
If less than 300 are playing, itll say 0 for some reason.
also when the ♥♥♥♥ is crossplay ranked being added? it was a god awful choice and its objectively obvious when you look at the numbers.
It is a bad thing for those who have already put in the work and effort all these years into fighting games. Making fighting games easier basically takes a sledgehammer to all those thousands of hours that older players have put into fighting games for decades and smashing it. While also laughing saying that your skill means nothing now.
Imagine having the same logic to your job. Someone starting out getting the same pay and benefits as you do that have been working for 20+ years. That's pretty much how older fgc players feel about this.
Yeah but if you destroy people who use combo assist without using it yourself, isn't that just as satisfying if not more?
That said, it shouldn't be allowed in ranked anyway.
Not really because I had to put it in much more work and effort to get the same result as the other person who doesn't have to put in as much work and effort.
It's not satisfying that the other player can win without having to make the sacrifice we older gamers had too. It feels like were being cheated and then told to "deal with it".
1st paragraph is 100% accurate. 2nd paragraph - well, I read it had something to do w/ the tech. Live not being able to be implemented in Steam or something.
Q: No Ranked Crossplay, Why?
Our folks worked really hard to make ranked a fair place on Xbox/Windows. Not saying that is not possible with Steam. Just saying it was very much a decision to keep the pools separate.
This may change in the future

The developers didnt want us on Steam getting steamrolled just starting out. I figure it wouldnt take much to add both pools together but you could forget getting top 32 in killer rank if they did.
Quake Champions is another game that's F2P elsewhere but a premium game on Steam so...I wonder what's up with that? Probably has to do with Vavle taking a 30% cut of profits, idk.
I agree with you. I would rather get stomped on and have people to play than playing the same guy 4 times.
It's not like killer ranked isn't populated by the players who migrated anyway.
