"Downloading Game Updates" Problem

Hi, I just download and installed my NBA 2K18 again. but this time, every time I launch the game it keeps on "Downloading Game Updates" yet it never made progress!
after a couple of minutes it reach 1% then it returns to 0%.
I'm not downloading anything and my internet connection is pretty fast. so I don't know why the game is acting like that.

guys, the server went down in january 18, i dont think its possible to play this game, you need to conect to the server to downloading the things, but, the servers are off

I was able to get mine to work by going to C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\userdata\(Your Number will be here)\577800\remote And removing all of the files in that directory. Then when I started the game it had be go through the creation of my player again, and I was able to play my career. Hopefully that helps some of you out.

no,idiots did not think that update thing and shut down online servers.
