The difficulty settings are so screwed up

😒It tends to be boring as♥♥♥♥♥♥on Superstar and pretty much unplayable on Hall of Fame mode, and this is really ALL because the half wits at 2K Games decided to remove the players ability to adjust how much pressure is applied defensively to each player. Who the ♥♥♥♥ thought removing this feature was a good idea?? Have these morons ever played or so much as sat down and watched a basketball game in their lives? I can't ♥♥♥♥ing win half the time because my team refuses to guard the three point line. This is unacceptable for ♥♥♥♥s sake. I am so dissapointed in this damn game, and it will definitely be the last NBA 2K game I buy if they end up being half♥♥♥♥♥♥♥products like this game.

its not unplayable on HOF. You just can't be making bone head plays...and you need to manage your lineups and make sure you're in the correct defenses. HoF literally just means the Computer is comin at you every chance they get. Once you get a lead, keep drilling...

To win in HoF you have to be very active in defense (a lot of smart help, and acting as a kind of "libero/free safety" where you can quickly deter offense everywhere on the court). Usually a team runs a limited amount of sets and actions so you can quickly pick up on those (especially in the playoffs). Try to cheat on the passing lanes once you spot patterns in the actions they run. And pray they don't hit their contested shots. The most dangerous I feel is when they run ISOs with superstars on perceived mismatches (especially in the post). Be very careful how you help in this case because the star will make the pass with no hesitation.

And on the offensive end, you have to be the primary ball handler, no other way about it. Only pass to bots when they will have almost no decision to make (i.e. when they're wide open :D). The easy sets/motion offenses to run are things like 4-out-1-in and Pace. P&R and make the simple read, the CPU is horrible at defending p&r in any difficulty. And ask for post plays for good post scorers.

🙄 Um......If you are playing against certain teams who have players with a high tendency to shoot three's like the Blazers or the Warriors, then you are pretty much ♥♥♥♥♥♥ because you can't increase the pressure defense to account for it. I am a center, I don't have the luxury in trying to cut off passing lanes or "cheat" half the time just because my team refuses to pick up the defense, sagging off of sharp shooters and leaving them WIDE OPEN routinely. As far as cutting off passing lanes, and hedging, this is something I should be able to tell my team to do just like I can in MyLeage mode. Most of the attention was given to every other mode except MyCareer, and it is bare bones in comparison because of it. I grinded my ASS off to get the on court coach badge just to find out I can't do the ONE thing that would have made Hall of Fame mode tolerable. I wouldn't be routinely getting blown out by thirty or forty points if I can tell my team to actually play REAL defense. If MyCareer mode in 2K19 doesn't atleast allow me to adjust the pressure defense like I can in previous iterations, then 2K Games can go ♥♥♥♥ themselves, pure and simple. This game is ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ broken from top to bottom.

Center is one of the most impactful position on the floor in MyCareer, it's not like you play PF. First the offense is really easy (the AI is terrible at defending the post: I can green every single post step back I take vs an AI for example). For the defense you can at least lockdown the paint and help on the post ups. Your P&R defense must be immaculate or some silly help defender will come off the corner, that's kind of a problem...

That should be enough to win games, right?

AI team defense in MyCareer sucks so bad. Creating momentum and getting teammates involved on the offensive side seems to help the defense, but sometimes it just doesn't matter and players will refuse to pick up their man.

It might be enough if you aren't playing teams full of sharp shooters like the Warriors, as I said before. You may get lucky and win a game but you'll end up getting smoked 90% of the time.

Exactly, this is basically the problem when it comes down to it. They are too slow on rotations, will sag off of known sharp shooters, and they help on defense when you least need it, leaving shooters wide open far too often. Good luck trying to beat teams like the Warriors with any degree of consistency with that trash defense. Not buying 2K19 if its anything like this.
