again, what is your jumpshot? what badges do you have on your player?
Second: The devs wanted to implement realistic schooting percentages this year. So 40-50 FG%. You will just miss shots.
Third: Badges are extremely important. Get Mid-Range Deadeye to help with contested shots (and with the bugs in the game, you can be wide open and the game still sees it as "contested") and maybe tireless shooter.
In any case: Standing still before taking a shot helps a lot. You can have a good rating on shots of dribble but they still have a very low percentage of going in.
And don't focus on the shot meter, focus on the shot animation.
It's not an issue. What badges do you have on you player? I had the same problems with missing shots. I changed my jumpshot, and I started to unlocking badges. My shooting percentage went way up. If you're missing with a full bar at 99%, that is due not having a badge or a higher tier of the badge.
I have a 6'8" 235 Playmaking Shot Creator with no issues shooting in the Playground, Pro-AM, or MyCareer. You need to play with the jumpshot creator and pullup jumper.
So, it's quite understandable people get confused and mad about this. My thinking is also, that the badges are even more important, but the game doesn't really communicate this well. The only thing it communicates, are those 'timings' and your attributes.
Here are even some real% stats of f.e. midrange-shots. So, it's quite right and okay to miss many shots.

That's where all the other stuff comes in i mentioned. Don't focus just on one thing i wrote, VC specifically stated they want to got into a more realistic direction with their shooting and eliminate "cheesing". Obviously, it doesn't really work so far.
This is a ♥♥♥♥ game that is dependent on badges and not ratings,It doesnt matter if you'r midrange is 96 like me you'll miss because you dont have mid-range deadeye on HOF or GOLD.
