[MOD] 100% Specimen chase music chance
Hey everyone. As you probably know, when a specimen starts to chase you, the chase theme may not always play (with the exception being the first time it chases you). This is intended, and can not be changed through any in-game method.
I decided to create a very simple mod that makes the chase theme of that specimen ALWAYS play when it appears.

This mod is now complete.

If you don't have it yet, you'll need either WinRAR[www.rarlab.com] or 7zip[www.7-zip.org] to open the .RAR file.

IIRC 12's theme is the same one that plays when he's in the room.

Yeah, but from what I can see, the link between the starting room and the random encounter is different. I need to find what enables his theme in the random encounter before I can change him.

Huh, this is really interesting.

I'll be honest, I don't know why they made it 50/50, it makes it hard to identify whats chasing you at certain times, and can be a real pain in the bum.

Thank you for making this, and hopefully you can do it for the rest of them!

It's meant to keep you on your toes and reinforce the RNG base of the game.

Just updated it. The update includes the following:
  • Unknown specimen 2
  • Unknown specimen 3
  • Monster 4
  • Monster 6

It's meant to keep you on your toes and reinforce the RNG base of the game.
While I do understand that, its still a bit scummy imo.

Would fit if there was some sort of "Harder Difficulty"

It's uh, not that hard to find out who's chasing you.
Most, if not all, specimen have unique sounds and you can just dart and check the door behind you.

Again, its true in regards what you said.

But this is all my opinions, and I still find it scummy.

I find this mod unnecessary, there are quite a lot of ways to tell if a specimen is chasing you or not especially in Endless mode. After enough playing there are several ways to tell easily, such as room transitions, loading times, pausing, etc.

This 50/50 music chance is reasonable tbh, from what I've seen only newer players tend to get annoyed by this but if you are observant enough the music doesn't even matter anymore, doesn't really impact much.

Of course it's not necessary. Unless the mod is actually improving/fixing the game because the developers were lazy like Bethesda, I wouldn't say ANY mod is necessary. This was made for the people who enjoyed having the chase music all the time. It was never intended to make the game easier.

This is what I see the mod as; I personally love the chase music in the game and my personal RNG is absolutely terrible, so I almost never get it to play. The game gets a tad boring without chase music imo.

Technically, Spec 9 DOES have a chase theme, AMPUTATED MARSHMELLOW I believe, it plays when you wait too long or when you go down that infinite hallway.

It also has a 100% chance of playing when Spec 9 spawns.
