Crashing fix

Hi folks,
if the game is crashing try below:
1. If you have Avast (or some other antivirus / firewall) it may collide with game engine and crash, turning it off will not help in most cases because it keeps the processes running in the background, I recommend uninstalling it (restart windows required) and if it doesn't help check next points.
2. Make sure the account have administrator rights and try to run the demolish.exe file in steamapps\common\Demolish & Build 2018 as administrator.

3. Try compatibility modes e.g. Windows 7 , XP or 98/me:
steamapps\common\Demolish & Build 2018 and right click on the .exe, selecting Properties from the menu. Select the Compatibility tab: Choose Windows 98/me compatibility mode. Then run the game.

4. Check integrity of your game files on steam. If it's not 100% you need to remove local files and install the game again. https://support.steampowered.com/kb_article.php?ref=2037-QEUH-3335

5. In some cases MSI Afterburner causes a crash.

6. Reinstall directX


I will update the topic when I have more ways to prevent the crashes.

I'm sorry but for some reason Avast used to crash the engine on some machines, possibly blocking a dll file. You can always install a different antivir.

Actually by adding the game folder to exclusions list of Avast / other antivirus is better method than uninstall the antivirus.

I did have success getting around the crash by running it one time under a Windows account with Admin rights, exiting, then logging back in as a non-Admin account and running it. Still a glaring bug that needs to be fixed, but this workaround at least got the game running in the meantime.

I will keep the game and check back in a few months to see if you have a better solution than removing my antivirus software. Very disappointed.
