The AI cheats
I think the greatest testament to the absolute ineptitude (said so elsewhere on this board already) of a development team is when the AI said devs come up with needs cheating to be any kind of challenge. It's just simply outragious to see enemy AI snipe with their guns on full auto and your guys won't hit eff-all in numerous attempts - this is just utterly ridiculous. And I mean you can CLEARLY see in this game just how BAD the AI really is - until the coding turns them into a mix of Hitman, Rambo and Chuck Norris. Who, in this day and age, codes this kinda junk still? The ppl responsible might wanna find another job tbh.

I feel this way too. Enemies firing in bursts with a machinegun seem to be able to snipe my mercs.

words cant describe how much i want to punch my monitor after my merc misses from about 4 metres away on burst fire with an smg
Don't know if you guyz have experanced .... this i have seen snipers shoot form the hip & hit with same level accurcy ....... & the one that makes me turn off my pc is when you hide a merc behind a car .. they can shoot through this & hit to ........ cover doen't same to work as good as it doe's with enemie solders .......
one shot can killl your guy from 80m with 75 pt and dont run out of ammo so need change tactics
Wouldn't be a shoddy knockoff of a popular title if there wasn't some ♥♥♥♥♥♥ cheating AI thrown in with all of the Dev's sheer incompetence.
If it was to easy you'd probably have created a post about how boring the game is.. Stop complaining and play something else if you don't like it.

I finnished both BIA (with 3 mercs) and CF (with 1 merc). And by saving and reloading, trying different aproaches and tactics, I managed to finnish both games with no merc ever getting hit (not even -1hp)
I also use combat evolved mod, wich makes the game even slightly harder..

So, it's not the game, it's you..
You just said it yourself - you're save scumming. How very glorious, you very obviously couldn't proceed without it then, huh? And if anything, this is a testament to how borked the AI for this game really is. That is, unless you play some other game in which the issues mentioned by everyone in this thread as well as across the internet don't happen. But how would you know?

You're save scumming, so most issues mentioned here won't bother you too much or you won't even notice them. But there are a LOT of people who don't play games save/reload style because for people like me there is no fun in that. Thing is however, a cheating AI isn't a challenge as it should be in a game but just simply cheap trickery on the developer's part. Worst thing is they released this as 'works as intended' obviously, which is just a sad butchery of a great franchise. And the thing is - the game WOULD be incredibly easy would the AI not be able to snipe with an assault rifle because other than being superhuman shots, the AI is thick as a brick. Actually, there doesn't seem to be much AI in the game but only a whole bunch of scripts running. If you can't see something's wrong with this game your standards are very obviously rather low.

And very obviously, we (I at least) play other games meanwhile because BIA is a load of craptastic coding and imbecilic execution on the devs' part. It's one of the worst remakes of an old, great series I've ever had the misfortune of buying, but eh, mistakes happen.

I just try to make it fun for me. Because let's face it, there is little choice in games like this. Savescumming to a certain degree yeah (i do not save after every single kill, nor do I have to)..

**edit: the reason i started to play this way is because you cant repair clothing as in JA2, and i hated that**

It's just soo pointless in filling forums with complaints that only frustrate people..
Because the person responsible (to who the OP directed his statement) probably won't be reading this anyway.

So, I will appologise if I was rude.. I'm just humanly frustrated atm.

But you are correct to say that I just don't care if a game has flaws anymore.. it's the current market strategy to produce bugridden games, create a hype around them and try to get paid before people notice the kind of s**t they just ate. I just don't care ...

Currently in my game theres an enemy who turns and shoots while crouched faster than any other my guys. I cant even zerg him.
yer i have findout that a merc must have a 95 points in sneak or higher is the best way to backstad someone .... i have findout that the i.d does have bonus is a few areas ... one is the aming ..... were you have a shooting arc then a shot line ...the i.a doesn't have the shooting line .. this why the i.d can pull off shot which your mercs can not .... .. don't know if you guyz have come across were yur merc would say ' can't take the shot ' but the enemy still shot you & hits ... this is because of the shooting line .. you find this out when you target a enemy soldier ..... this if any brainly coder could take out this shooting line when aiming for eneny soldiers ... am betting that than it would be a level playing ground .... i do find thating cover does not work as much .. this is because of the a.i does not have the shooting line to worry about ... the secord thing as few people had typed in this comment ares .. i do see this alot is that the enemies do have faster reaction times than you mercs do ....... .. the third thing is that ..& i am very unsure about this ... but i do think players have seen this to is the armour & bullets types ...were soldiers with 9mm or lower AP bullets can hit with the same damage ..you were wearing armour or not .... .... but this doe turn on its head when you use the same type of bullets back were you are luckly to score one out 7 hits with 70% damage ... i didn't know that if you shot a bullet over great range you lose AP damage .... so a sniper rifle would be poor choose when shooting from distance ...
i would like someone to example to me the AP % thing ... because i fought if a bullet had for example 127% AP would mean if a unarmoured solder would take ..... +127% bonus to damge if not wearing armour ... & wear a heavy armour solder would only take the normal damage as normal or a - % to damage as long as the armour was in good nick .......
i worked out that on a average with ap bullets you do damage on a 60 - 70 % of the guns damage output ... even if the merc is skilled in a weopen type .... skilled(10%+ acc , 10%+ damage) expert (20%+ acc , 20%+)........
i know your guys must think i hate this game ...... i like RTS & RPG s ... i think has poeple like harmor has typed & I fully agree with this person.... it has kind of brought the standards on on this franchie down ..... .. the only good thing i can say the grahics do look great ... but that all i can say about the game ...... i hope on JA project is alot better ..the designers learn from the errors of ther ways
What JA project are you talking about?
