DLC ignores language setting

So I just bought Patrician IV Gold, including Patrician IV Steam Special Edition and the DLC Rise of a dynasty. Both have their language set to "German" on the corresponding properties tab. Patrician IV actually runs in german language, but no matter what I do, the DLC rise of a dynasty just keeps ignoring the language setting and always starts up in english language.

So what needs to be done in order to get the DLC run in german language? And please refrain from telling me to set my windows system language to german, as this is just not going to happen. There is a per game language setting for a reason.

Same problem here, my game is in french but I would rather have it in English. English is selected for both game in the local files. But it doesn't change! why! damn :(

Took me some searching around, but I found a workaround:

Locate the file options.cfg in your home directory under AppData\Roaming\Kalypso Media\Patrician 4 Addon. Open the file in notepad(++) and scroll down to the section labeled [Language]. Change the line "Language = xxxx" to the desired locale ("enus" should be US english).

Nevertheless, this is a poor job by the developers and anything but a proper integration with steam. Making the assumption that users want to run the game in the same language their base OS is configured to use is just plain wrong.

I had the same issue and fixed it thanks to TombViper's workaround. I thought we could make a list of the available languages so that people have all the information they need on this thread:

frfr = french
dede = german

I guess it's safe to assume that the laguage setting consists of a two letter country code according to ISO 639-1[en.wikipedia.org] immediately followed by a two letter region code according to ISO 3166-1 alpha-2[en.wikipedia.org].

Hi guys. Do you know where and how can I find the files where all the phrases are written within the game in the various languages? I would like to find these text files to translate them manually into Italian, since steam has not released the Italian version.
