Tropico 4 does not support 4k?

if i try to play in 4k its basically an instant game crash on the following loading screen (aka starting game play from main menu) even if i set all details to low

i can set the 3840x2160 apply it and also confirm i want that rez.. but if i dont quit the game immediately i wont make it past the 1st menu.. and if i can get past the 1st menu it will crash after char select.... none of this happens in lower resolutions... i can ploay gta5, unreal alpha and all of my other games in 4k, just not Tropico4 (even ut2k4 can go to 4k and not crash)

i am using latest drivers for gtx780(6gb) and have a fully updatd and genuine copy of windows 7

I have the same problem. I'm not sure what to say other than just run it in 1920x1080.

i have found that if you go into the gameplay; and then change to 4k rez you will be able to play in 4k.. but once you go through a loading menu its lkely you are about to crash

Dear People (Even though I know this thread it is over a year old) I have found a way of running Tropico 4 in 4K (3840×2160). If you go into windowed mode, start up your game, get into the map, and then change the visual settings to the desired resolution, then it seems to run fine. Regardless save often as it did crash about an hour or so in but none the less it worked and was playable. If this works please say, I found this worked for me by chance so would like to see if others have the same effect.

many many many games including from the 90's can scale to 4k .. its not unreasonable to try, or ask about .. some people are just rude
